Not at all. One of only two cars that looked good with three spokes. L100NYY said:
Yes, I know its a lot for an old Audi and yes I know it won't be that exciting to drive......
.........but I really rather like it;

They were £3k for a decent one a few years back. These days a heap will cost you more than that. Back then they were a viable alternative to the usual Impreza Classic but these days you'd have to really want one to justify that kind of outlay..........but I really rather like it;

Regret not scratching that itch when I had the chance. The one I drove was remapped and running Bilstein suspension and a V8 Torsen centre (?) diff, and actually handled really rather well. Sounded incredible at full chat, built like a tank and really shifted above 3k RPM.
Crap brakes though.

Love that. Ditch the sub, lose an inch on the wheel diameter and its perfect. rejn said:

Wow - that looks good and that didn't come up in my Elise searches a couple of weeks ago. I like the Sport 190 S2 you've got, too, Loon - looks like an awesome car.By the way, the dealer has gone quiet on that Cat D elise 160 from a few pages back. As time passes, I'm also starting to think that if I go down the Elise route, a good 160 is the way to go, so I think I've mentally moved on from the cat D "bargain".

Also consider an s1 111s. A little less peak power and perhaps less instantly attractive (not as low, I think?) but a very well-behaved engine compared to the 160.MattOz said:
Had a 2002 M5 slide past me on the M40 this morning. Carbon black with what looked like individual champagne leather. You forget just how right BMW got it with the styling, stance etc of the E39. Made me want to hunt for a third one!
I was thinking on the weekend, the E39 turns 20 this year, doesn't it?mft said:
