I know this car, have rallied against it quite a few times. It's superb. Makes a brilliant noise and doesn't hang about. Very well prepared.
Not a minter though but no rally car ever is unless it's a showpiece.

Details man, Details......
Well, since you asked.... Have had it nearly 5 years and around 22k miles. Black saloon, 105k miles, black and silver interior, standard other than secondary cats removed (not needed to pass MOT) when some exhaust flanges were replaced last year. Generally excellent condition, one or two small bits of bubbling on the wheelarches.
In my ownership, serviced annually to the factory A/B schedule by a Merc specialist (Mobil 1 etc, including spark plug and transmission fluid changes etc on schedule). Given stuff whenever it has needed it*. All paperwork from me and previous owner; stamped service book before that.
Thinking around £4.5k
e.g. offhand - replace windscreen wiper mechanism, wheel refurb, steering wheel and gearknob recovered in Nappa leather, Conti tyres, HVAC fan motor, aircon overhaul incl compressor, gear selector linkage, engine fan coupling, steering reach adjustment damper, brake pads and a few minor brake/suspension bits...

What are you driving chap? Historics I assume?
I've now sold the DS and the Porsche is being turned into more of a Tour Auto / Tour Britannia type car with track tweeks.
I've also now added racing licences to my rally ones and have got the bug with that in a big way. Currently negotiating a deal on a Lotus Cortina historic racer to add to the garage.

Quick question that probably doesn't deserve its own thread so I figured here would be the best place to ask:
Is it a big no no to replace 2 tyres on a car that has run flats with non run flats? Car in question is a 118i, and we are ditching the run flats. Thing is the fronts have a fair bit of life left in them so it seems a shame to bin them but the rears could do with replacing.
Will this cause problems or will it be fine?

Never done it myself but I would assume it will feel odd. I'd replace all 4 and keep the two good run flats as spares personally. Is it a big no no to replace 2 tyres on a car that has run flats with non run flats?
