The CVH in the MK2 is something of a wheezy, hateful thing. At least the crossflow in the Mk1 is receptive to a tweak or two.

Saw one Thursday, the first in a very long time.

I always remember the road tests of the time favouring these. I guess it was of the era:

Escort RS2000 MKV
Citroen ZX Volcane
Renault 19 16v
Peugeot 306 XSI (I think GTI-6 came later)
Golf GTI MKV

I very nearly bought a GRANTURISMO back in the day, simply because it had a Granturismo badge on the back, and it was my favourite Playstation game by a long distance.

Oooh and the 145 Cloverleaf and 146Ti.

I should have remembered that one as there was a 145 hanging about at the family home for years. Never liked it much myself, bloody awful driving position

I forgot about the Rover 220GTi too.

318ti was along in '94 too, just in time to see insurance/crims kill off all the other hot hatches
