Anyone want to hazard a guess at the cost of a replacement Xenon headlight for a 2010 MINI?

£470 inc vat.
Not what we were quoted!

Although listed separately, the controller is built in apparently, and you can't have the headlight without.

840 plus the VAT.

Mine was just a guess!

fk that's expensive!
Indeed.

And there's basically sod all wrong with it. That's the annoying thing.

One of the mounting lugs is cracked but it's supposedly part of the pedestrian safety system so it can't be bodged and is an MOT issue, potentially. Stupid, stupid, design.

If they make the mountings so they break easily on an impact, why not have them with replaceable, deformable links, rather than moulded lugs on a sealed unit?

Onanists.

Looks awesome and sounds brilliant. No fluff.

Lovely.

Bit more expensive than the other one, but very near to me! Could prove a useful addition for practical duties.

Anyone got knowledge of them? I seem to recall a number of people calling them quite 'boring'.

A 182 in that spec is far from 'boring'. I ran a 18 Trophy for a bit which was a hoot and later a std 197 which was a tad dull. The 197 F1 edition I had last year was ruddy brilliant.

I think I'd chance it with the MOT.

Is that price just for the part or all in?
Agreed. Or get it repaired (plastic welding?)

Part cost only.

I said no.

Will bond it with something appropriate.

hehe

Been driving around in a borrowed Continental Speed today. S'alright. Fast. Bit embarrassing. Tinny inside. More nimble than expected. Pops and bangs. Terrible stereo. 5.5/10.

Also, had 10 minutes to spare this evening, so had a good old fashioned tyre kick around a closed used car lot. Haven't done that in years.

Random observations: a 10 year old black, supercharged XKR still looks fabulously purposeful, a 2 year old Defender looked comically uncomfortable and wantable in equal measure, and, like the sad looking mongrel on the RSPCA telly ads, I felt a bit sorry for a comfy looking leather lined 02 plate V6 Toyota Camry at the back of the lot, and feel oddly compelled to give it a new home.

I can't recall hearing that before.

Find a twisty B-road and you'll love the thing.

I'm thinking about punting 20-25k on a half-decent looking Ferrari Mondial at auction. Am I mad?

It would make a great partner for the Integrale. I guess the question is....
