Re 3 Eleven - I'm not convinced on the looks (much the same with X Bow tbh) but no doubting the fact it will be an amazing thing to drive.

I'd still take a 620R though.

============

Re Singer Targa - I saw that at Goodwood yesterday. Beautifully put together as always but I do feel they all look overwheeled/overtyred.

The 3-11 looks like an incredible thing. I'd love to read a story of a comparison with a 620R where it includes taking them to 2 different tracks, say Cadwell and Silverstone (or even better, Spa).

I absolutely love it. Shame about the price tag (£82k, or £115k if you want the proper gearbox) - but i reckon you could have quite a bit of fun on a trackway with it!
It seems quite reasonably priced to me. It's a chunk more than the 620R but gains a proper attempt at aero, and is $90k less than the Atom 500, albeit with far less power-to-weight. Beyond these two, there seems little to touch it for the price?

Luckily I don't live in California, or I would be looking around for something big to tow and buying that.

In other news I really, really want an Ariel Nomad. I love how it would open up virtually every road in the country to driving fun.

Here we have my Facelift 1996 Jaguar XJS Celebration Coupe Auto 4.0 Straight 6 SUPERCHARGED (I call it the XJS-R6)

One of the last xjs's made (number 136th last built) in carnival metallic red with oatmeal leather and biscuit carpet.

This very rare and difficult conversion which was profesionally carried out, uses the engine taken from a Jaguar XJR6 which has the 4.0 AJ16 Supercharged straight 6, mated to a 4 speed automatic gearbox.

It benefited from alot of upgrades over recent years including the following:
  • Stainless 6 branch exhaust manifold
  • Full stainless sports exhaust stystem which sounds like an e-type on steroids!
  • +5 Deg Crank sensor bracket (andy bracket) giving more power and crisper throttle response
  • New crank sensor
  • New supercharger
  • Uprated K+N induction system
  • Re-con radiator
  • Re-con steering rack
  • Uprated cooling fans
  • New kick down switch
  • Re-con starter motor
  • New front calipers and brake discs
  • New rear brake pads
  • New rear parking brake shoes
  • Replacment brake servo
  • New rear wheel bearings
  • New offside abs sensor
  • New uprated radius arm bushes
  • Polybushed steering rack bushes
  • Jaguar XJR6 alloys with good tyres all round
  • Quad headlamp conversion
  • New passenger seat electric control module
Plus full engine service (Engine oil + filter, spark plugs, fuel filter)
There is a new gearbox filter to go with the car.
It also has a certificate showing that it has had a professional waxoil and stonechip treatment from Before and After services a few years ago.
There isnt a trace of rust on the car, the paint work is fantastic.
The interior is very clean, the seats front and rear are in fantastic condition as is the wood. The electric seats work fine.
The central locking/alarm and immobiliser all works fine, as does the alarm fob.

The car is fantastic to drive, very very quick and sounds fantastic!

A very rare car that Jaguar should of made, and a now fast appreciating Jaguar model!

Viewing recomended.

Happy Bidding.

Or P/X Chevrolet Chevelle/Bel Air/ Stepside Pickup etc.....

Many thanks for that. Sounds both somewhat beguiling and utterly terrifying.

Another 612 manual - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f...

Lowish mileage but not the greatest colour and slightly sketchy service history. Yours for £99,950 apparently....

Me too. I really like the colour combo. I can just imagine putting the kids in the back of that and cruising down to San Remo.
My more mundane reality is I'll be putting the kids into the Ford people carrier and cruising down to Legoland or Peppa Pig World...

It's a rich man's car, and the servicing costs do reflect that. However there isn't much you could buy at any price that would walk away from that when you tread on the loud pedal.
