Just spoken to Mother- she's dropped a deposit on a car today. She's happy.

Most silver haired grandmothers turn towards The Honda Jazz, or maybe an Aygo Grand Verso. But she's decided that what she needs is something with 600bhp and 12 cylinders.

She always did like her cars.

Seem to remember the headline grabbing Turbo being lamented as an 150mph car back in the day.

I did the Astra GTE/GSi thing. By all accounts a stunning engine nailed to a pretty crap car.

Red "16v" badge spotting on Mk2 Golfs and Astras was fun back in the day though.
I had the GTE 16v as well - did the old lift off sideways thing pretty well and mine wasn't bad at all in the bends. I got one of the later 'tweaked' ones though

Despite having the 309 and Golf there was just 'something' about the GTE - probably my fave from those days although the 309 was the handling king for me

That colour green but done as a moosey could work?

Anyone good at the faceshopfotobook?

Blimey, I obviously need to grow an Elise beard - I thought the Sport 135 and Sport 160 both had the c/r box, but not the 111S...
You're thinking of the S2. The 111S did not have the c/r box, the std 122bhp car did, as did the other specials.

Ripe for turning into a cmoose-style special.
That colour and done moose-style would be a welcome contrast to the sea of monochrome on today's roads. Approved! judge

(I'm a hypocrite, both my cars are black; there was very little choice at the time of purchase, however!)

Tough ask, but I managed to knock-up this rendering. Fairly convincing, I reckon.

Have a feeling this may have been done already - but what is the house view?

Always loved the look of these and it seems like a reasonable price. Are they ruinous to run and maintain?
That seems cheap for the miles. I've never seen many for much less than that and they always had another 40k miles on top of that one.
Having driven DeRs B5 moons ago, all i'll say is WoW!!! it kept Martys (mod500) 993TT honest on an exuberant joust up the M1, and later in the same journey might've managed 195 Leptons uphill..... wink

A truly astonishingly accomplished car...

Glad you are back.
fk it, I'll have that.

Is anyone local and can have a look? It is in Sutton.
Crap timing... I've had the day off today. I'd have gladly popped down to see / buy that myself if it'd been posted 24 hours earlier.

'My' S160 had the close ratio box. Can't take the credit for fitting it. Definitely made it lively enough.
Dan's old car?

That's right. Calypso Red.

Great car and sorely missed, although I did end up on first name terms with local specialist. (Someone drove into it whilst parked, then once repaired I went through three alternators in as many months).

Great looking car!

I'm on train going through snowy Yorkshire at the moment and I'd imagine slithering around the snowy country roads here would be great fun in an Elise!!
