It's something to do with being able to get up from your seat and go "out back" to sort the kids out without stopping.
Yep- cruise control is a marvellous thing.I did enjoy my motring to the Alps, cruise set at 80, bare feet (pretty sure it's legal when you're on holiday), eating ice-creams and plain sailing all the way. Lovely. They just need to sort out the service stations and the radio.
And if I drive down on my own again I'm getting a TAG thingamy, althoughI did find out the Mercs electrics are very coffee resistant.

Thud
Can't think of any motor I'd rather spend 25k on.
If I was in the market then I would find it very hard indeed to ignore the new MX5.

I bought Evo at the airport yesterday, and despite a couple of good articles (McLaren 675LT versus 991GT3RS was amazing), I felt a bit "meh" about it. I was a subscriber for years.Mrs rejn bought me a subscription to Practical Performance Cars which is great. It's all a bit wierd, but I find it a great read. Maybe my tastes have changed, and I'm just more into the kind of stuff they cover: one of the team has put a 27 litre Rolls Royce Merlin (or similar) into a Rover SD1, and is spending months re-plumbing the cylinder head in the hope of releasing an extra 250bhp amongst other things; another story about somebody who bought an old Mk1 Escort, a Sierra and a Mondeo V6 and turned it into a V6 hot rod Escort mk1)
