I owned one many years ago, I know they get slated but I have to say for the purpose I used it for, daily commute 15 miles each way on dual carrigeway, it was excellent, couldn't fault it, never gave me a problem and had more than enough grunt for the job, I think for the money they are a great buy, even by today's standards they aren't slow, and definitely a good car if you have a motorway commute, decent fuel economy and adequate performance.
It's not that they are slow, the 150PS petrol turbo pulls nicely, it's just that the PD130/PD150 diesel version is better in pretty much every single way and will give you 45mpg no matter how you drive it, instead of 32mpg. I've done a lot of miles in Mk4s and really do like them. My wife's daily is a PD130 GT TDi. shirt said:
Proper. That is pretty much the archetype that springs to mind whenever I encounter '911'.
I blame a combination of 80s tuning reviews and Condorman.

Looks like a lot of fun, but I imagine it's still a bit of a posh chaps gig.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-PORSCHE-911-964-CAR...
I seem on 911 watch these days, but this looks great on the speedlines and it's probably sensible money in these mad times.

I know it's the much maligned Mk4, but this colour combo looks great.

Each to their own and all that, but to me that's about as appealing as an Ebola milkshake.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/v...

What's the general view on new shape convertible Mini Cooper S.
This one is coming up at auction soon (I'm concerned that it sold at auction earlier this year, so I'll probably avoid this precise car).
Mrs rejn likes them, but I'm concerned they'd be a bit flexible... (although having said that, it wouldn't get much of a work-out - it'd be more of a family summer day out car).
ETA this one at just over £5k looks even better value. I know it doesn't have the "John Cooper Works" package, but I can't believe that would be particularly well aligned to the soft-top car...

A soon to be 12 year old Mini for over £5k? That seems insane to me.This one is coming up at auction soon (I'm concerned that it sold at auction earlier this year, so I'll probably avoid this precise car).
