Oops, almost bought a blue 90 pick up. I didn't realise the link would open in the app on my phone and trying to close the window by touching the bottom of the screen (had it been in safari) saw me press the 'buy it now' and almost tap the commit to buy!!
  1. goodexcuse - I hit "buy it now" by mistake hehe

I've got this in a couple of weeks to review, hoping the weather isn't too bad! (new 420R)

Wow, that is mental

That massive angled stereo makes it look like an old mixing desk, and those seats!!

That is so cool

Me too. Nothing fancy. Something road biased. K series Roadsport, maybe an HPC. Maybe even build a new 270. All you'll ever need.

The penny dropped recently. A seminal moment. Add another Seven to the empty space next to the X300 XJ6 in the garage, and I may never need to look at another car again.

Same price as a decent service on the Pork. Does not compute.

Mine's proving to be one of the best things on four wheels I've ever bought.

Jaguars don't bork. HTH.

For what it's worth, I found myself browsing X308 XJRs this morning. Because nothing says 500 miles/week like 15mpg.

yes

I've just done a great, repair free, highly enjoyable year in my xjr. Always a pleasure to drive the thing. Even a pleasure to wash it - a first for me. biggrin

Pick of the classifieds for me. Yes yes I know you'd probably spend more time lapping valves and balancing carbs than driving the thing, but words like Lotus, Dellortos, Big Valve and and Twin Cam give me a bit of a knee trembler.

They do rust though. My FiL's X308 is about to be sold for spares due to the salty air of God's waiting room corroding the crap out of it. A pity as it's a lovely car otherwise.
yes

But you can spot the rust so it's easily avoided. I heard an apocryphal tale that XJ40s with oil leaks tended to survive better due to the rust prevention properties wen applied to the front sub frame. Certainly explains how my ultra-shed was still going strong and I'm sure the continuous oil replacement kept it running extra sweet.
