Pick of the classifieds for me. Yes yes I know you'd probably spend more time lapping valves and balancing carbs than driving the thing, but words like Lotus, Dellortos, Big Valve and and Twin Cam give me a bit of a knee trembler.
What a cutie. cloud9
Wow. that is really lovely - it might just be the best Caterham I've ever seen. I think I'd have to find space for that in the dream garage.

It would sit nicely alongside a modern track-based Caterham - probably a sequential R500 or similar.

Indeed.

I like the front number plate treatment too.

I'm a sucker for those front 'plates' yes

I remember seeing a lovely dark green S1 Elise in the padfock at Brands a few years ago and the guy had done the same thing and it looked fantastic.

True dat. If I'm ever in a position to order a new 620R, I'll ask them to make it look just like that.

Had a guy in the yard this morning in a Holland and Holland P38. Bit of a workhorse and no gun cabinet, but gave a grand for it. Oofs and nodding approval as he gave it a blip on startup, accompanied by the Range Rover rock. As the kids say, well jel.

On a similar note; one of the nicest Caterhams I've seen was an R500 (k series) in very dark green with a BRM esque orange noseband. Look very retro-cool......plus it was filthy dirty to add to the cool factor

What a great idea - no need for 2 Caterhams after all, just one, but with the driving dynamics of an R500/620R and the looks of that one above. Brilliant.

Chaps

I'm hankering after a modern Z4. You know the folding hard top version. Obviously I want the hot version with DCT box. Has anyone here driven one?

I haven't no, but all the reviews were very positive iirc. Even Clarkson liked it.

That looks very lovely. I had seen that whilst musing about R400s. However that one at 126hp is a smidge over the Roadsport in output so it must have been incredible in its day!

Cheap

Saw one of these the other night in red and I think they look pretty good.
They do seem like a bargain compared to other car pricing at the moment.

Needs to be a 4-door IMO. The coupé just looks a bit wrong.

But yes, the basic gloss red does suit them rather well. Especially with the smaller 18" Style 260 wheels.

My first 'proper' car... a 1995 Barchetta in Broom yellow, bought in 2003 for £5.5k from DTR Sports Cars in Sheen. Mine had 17" alloys, a momo wheel and gearstick and a fruity exhaust. A brilliant car. There are so many lovely design details from the headlamp covers to the wing mirrors to the door handles. They go well too.

I miss it!

Good looking little cars - the yellow really works.

In other news, over the course of the next few weeks I should get a lap of Bathurst in a rental Kia, and then go to see the V8 Supercars at Philip Island in a camper van. Can't wait!

Barchettas are an absolute hoot to drive, I always rather fancied an orange one, slightly lowered, fruity exhaust etc.

O/F - Bathurst sounds like a hoot!! driving

I reckon this is what a Morris Minor Traveller on steroids would look like.

Apart from some of the internal wood looking like your dad knocked it together in a morning, it is bloody magnificent.
