It looks beautifully right. A manual gearbox and some firmer springs and quality dampers hiding behind that ride height, and that's just about a quintessential XJS for me.Maybe some racy cams, a lightweight flywheel and grumpy idle for chuckle factor

In other news, over the course of the next few weeks I should get a lap of Bathurst in a rental Kia, and then go to see the V8 Supercars at Philip Island in a camper van. Can't wait!
Did the same in a rented Commodore (what else?) a few years ago. The gradients and narrowness will surprise you: it looked far easier on the telly when I was growing up. The quick men around there have balls. It's a genuine public road, no 'Ring style hot laps and surprisingly few pilgrims, but you can still have a little bit of a go. I didn't dump the Commodore into the kitty litter at Murrays. Nope.ATM said:
I assume somebody has stuck a turbo engine into a carerra car?I quite like it. Attention to detail looks good (although in sure an expert will be along soon).
ETA: or did it start off as a turbo before being converted to 2wd?
ETA: dvla states MoT expired in June and tax expired in Feb. I wonder how recent the photos are... Having said that, the ad States it has an mot until 08/16...

No, well I'm not. It looks ok in the pictures but have been quoted ££££ to get it serviceable and interior is beyond help. We've donated it to a local college automotive course for them to learn on and get back on the road (hopefully).
Many many happy childhood memories so a difficult decision.

Nice one. Many many happy childhood memories so a difficult decision.
Hopefully it'll live to see the road again.

Great spec - LSD and manual gearbox. A rare car. Given that mine is in the process of generating a £3.5k bill I hope it goes for the upper end of the estimate! Joel
