I've been more of a lurker than a poster recently (damn job!) but that Elise is just lovely. Silver wouldn't be my first choice, but I love the spec - I like the fact it's a bit different. I'd never get to use it, but I'd love that sitting in the parking space!!ETA: headlight covers, Victory alloys, and slightly lowered suspension is a great combo (a la Sport 160 in fact!)
Does anybody know if the duratec is similar to what they put in the new caterhams (ie pretty nicely suited to track-day use)?
Oh - and I love the grey skyline and there's something very appealing about an E34 535i.
I'm just a serial car admirer at the moment - every time I log on here, the thread is full of general loveliness!!!

That's superb. Haven't seen a Duratec converted car before.I was looking into the Duratec the other day as I quite fancy building an engine, something I haven't done since I was 18. (A series, Clive Trickey book, grinding dye, burette nicked from 6th form science lab. Things have changed). The Duratec seems an excellent choice for an Elise: the internals of the standard motor are extremely light and precisely balanced in the modern day interests of efficiency and economy, qualities that the race engine builder strives for. Dump the emission lead induction, and an easy 200+ bhp can be had, all on a stock motor.
Chapman would have wholeheartedly approved.

Absolutely love those Victory wheels on an Elise!Think that car seems like a great spec and the price isn't bad.
If I was in the market, I'd take a look as I have family down that way.
Maybe I should anyway... Lovely thing!
Beards et al,
Thinking about going Christmas Shopping at Super Veloce Racing, out High Wycombe Way.

I think they are relatively new, so can't find much gossip about them here or elsewhere.
Anyone have anything to share?

At some point next year I will be getting myself something that will be mostly not a commuter car. It fluctuates between a few candidates but just seeing the great proportions of the E32/4 makes me think that one of these is a great idea, but then I think, could I track it? if I have that then it means I can't have this, or this, or do I get this as well?
If the car market hadn't gone do-lally it would be easy and, Amigo Loans notwithstanding, I'd probably get this or this or this or...

It's all crazy bananas. Final three all around 30k a couple of years ago. Could throw a Ferrari or two in there as well.I suspect though by the time I scrape the necessary together everything else's will probably be out of reach too (except for the SL as they don't get that much love and are unlikely to feature in Octane!).
