Discussion
Very nice - i bet that is quite an unfiltered driving experience.
With plenty or Porsche talk I'm happy to report that we now have a 2006 Cayman S in the family, my brothers. I goes really nicely and has given me more impetus to change my car this year.
I think an estate is in order with a fledgeling family, and am finding it difficult to look past an RS4 avant - always quite liked them and the engine is a gem.
I'm a sucker for a blistered arch.
Cons
- Brakes are expensive, as the rotor is mounted on an aluminium hub and very similar to a gallardo brake disk
- Dampers can leak and operate relationally to their diagonal opposite, so need to be replaced in pairs
- Engines often coked up if not exercised regularly
- Quite thirsty
Pros
- Nicely finished
- Suited to our roads so will give pace come rain or shine
- Subtle
- High revving V8
- Quicker than a Cayman S
Any thread opinions?

RS4 avant ...
Any thread opinions?
You've pretty much nailed it. They really are an event to drive, and they very much nailed the dynamics in all departments. Any thread opinions?
But I am biased.

Nic one JC.
I was looking at Golf R estates, but I'd rather put cash into maintaining one of these than pay for depreciation, one way or the other.
Its looking like end of Feb for me. Can't bloody wait!
Others are having exactly that discussion in this thread. And the consensus seems to be the decison you've come to. I was looking at Golf R estates, but I'd rather put cash into maintaining one of these than pay for depreciation, one way or the other.

I've been having these exact same thoughts. I think 2016 will be the year I finally do the RS4 thing. I'm a sucker for a blistered arch.

What you really want is a Golf R Estate that's been ::suitably fettled::

2. A couple of the gaps look a bit off but I do hanker after a mk2

Very nice, I do like Sport 160's
Ran one a while ago, such a hoot and a great noise too
This one has a DVA Power K13a head, Jenvey ITBs and airbox, trophy pistons, Nitrons and big brakes. 180bhp at 7300rpm. Let's just say it has more talent than its owner!Ran one a while ago, such a hoot and a great noise too

After many years of Munich-mobiles, 2015 was the year I finally went RS4. However I opted for a B5, even knowing that in nearly all subjective areas a B7 is probably a better car. But even still, I love the thingGassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
