Oh and Jeremyc - I'd always Imagined your photo location for some of your photos was your own gate posts at the end of a long drive for Jeremyc Manor with its own garageblock?!!
A cunning and intentional plan to obfuscate the location of the fleet. biggrin The reality is very different.

I don't believe the residents of the property know that they are my photo location of choice. It's very nice though. hehe I did look up the owner once - he's a record label magnate or similar. smile

ETA: parklet.co.uk was quite useful in Canary Wharf - they claim to cover the whole of the U.K...
See also lockupgarages.co.uk, yourparkingspace.co.uk, rightmove.co.uk, zoopla.co.uk. smile

Generally you need to search for commercial properties to rent on the property websites to find garaging.

ETA: also check with your local council - they often have lockups to rent at pretty low cost.

Lockups round my way are now selling for £30K+ yikes

The 997 chat got me looking.

I must admit, only those with a GTx suffix have been of interest previously. However, something such as this does look tempting.

I found gumtree was actually the best for finding spaces and lockups where I am in SW London.

I agree - I spent some time looking earlier. I find it disappointing that 95% of the cars for sale are black/grey/silver - most of which don't do it for me.

The red one you posted looks lovely (despite being a non-S) - looks like a lot of car for £23k.

ETA: and at that price, it'd leave a few pounds for some of their tasty-looking tuning upgrades...

Agreed. It looks great.

I thought the 997 time was gone as GT3 prices increased. I think Braddo's car might have been the optimum timing when I found it. However, these look crazy value at 20k. An R8 is over double that and doesn't offer the practicality. When I look at an R8 I can't convince myself why it would be better than an RS4 for half the money.

Can't argue with that, although strangely when launched the R8 did nothing for me (although the V10 I drove was pretty good) but as the years go by I find one more and more appealing however from some angles they still look a bit off.

I had a look around Meaden's R8 Plus long termer at Goodwood not long after he collected it from the factory (was still on German plates) and it really did look pretty special and was a great spec, must've been super to run that as a daily yes

But that logic could be applied to any car vs the next model up in the range.

Ha - differnt situation for me: my kids are 2 and 5 and I'm ok with the £10k premium on the off-chance that it means I might get it approved by the rejn family spend committee...

But I bet an E39 didn't cost much more (if anything) to produce than an E36.
