Engine is indeed, and (whisper it) as impressive as any GT3 engine I've driven. Size never even occurred to me I've got to admit, though it's a couple of years since I've driven a 996/7 let alone anything air cooled. There's a yellow 991 turboS that occasionally parks at work and it still looks small in the car park against contemporary cars.

Although I personally think the E32 pulls that particular trick off to 11

It has a scary rear view mirror visage, doesn't it?

Agreed. Not that I've driven one. But my next door neighbour has one. From a distance it's a nicely proportioned design which almost manages to hide its size... But up close it really is a BIG car.

My neighbour has an Iris Blue 993, looks rather tiny but oh so right too.

I have to agree...... and a B11 3.5 in a beautiful Alpina Grun has arisen on the Barge thread from the PH Classifieds.

According to wiki, it's under 3" longer and 4" wider than the 997.

I don't think it's that BIG smile

Fairy nuff. It just looks big. And it was noticeably longer than my 1 series, much longer than the Defender, and is rather more bloaty than I think a 911 should be. All just IMHO obvs.

And I'm not questioning for one moment that it is an awesome bit of kit. It would certainly feature in my post-Euromillions 10 car garage.

So. Olly22n builds a 996 CSR lite

Grubes builds a 997 CSR lite

Was there someone else involved in this somewhere?
