echo that, will be interesting to hear how they really are from the enthusiast perspective.
mclaren get a bum deal in the press and on the forums imo. people seem to forget just how young a company they are -barely 5years as a proper volume producer - and look how far they've come in that time.
sadly closest i've come to being in one was the pre-production mules i spotted whilst at ricardo in 2011. i did get a shop floor tour of the engine build factory though which was pretty cool.

Entertaining '80's video of a guy's mum driving a Lamborghini Countach.

in anticipation of tomorrow's alpine launch, a selection of my favourite french misfits from the regie:
l'originale:

and the grand-pere of crazy:

my first car post uni was a clio 1.2 'extreme' [woooaaaaah] and i love the fact that sitting in the mk1 v6 is exactly the same experience as the cabin in the mundane shopper until you look over your shoulder. i hate the fact they're now getting over £20k [especially as i passed on one last year for closer to £8k as i bought the elise instead] as they have no race pedigree and deffo a heart over head kinda purchase, so i've gone with the cheapest i can find:

unloved and derided but there's something tres manifique about the spider. the sadev/f4 combo in my clio is an addictive experience and reckon even more so with a little less weight and rwd:

although for 1/3 of the money the clio cups are a billy bargain as a track car. slow[ish] but sublime and nothing beats the 'yeah, i'm a racing driver, watch it lewis' of flatshifting a sequential. recommended:

rear engined aircooled cars aren't exactly what renault will be remembered for, but i've always wanted a dauphine, especially a gordini but without the pointless racing aspirations:

harder to defend, but i really really want a mk1 twingo. i'd hate to crash one mind:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-TWINGO-1-2-16-VA...
and lastly l'objet de mes affections courante, the rs01 racer. really hoping the new car is a mix of the alpine celebration concept for styling cues and this car for the engineering. had a good look around at the 24H dubai and its a very slick thing indeed:

Great post Shirt, love those
Apropos of nothing but I remember going to an Italian Car Day at Ickworth House around 25 years ago and there was a chap who arrived with his Countach driving chum in his 5 Turbo II and it looked every bit as spectacular. Would love one.
Still not sure about a V6 Clio, they look amazing and have that modern day Turbo II look to them but I just know that my ph1 172 was just as quick and probably a better steer and I think that would annoy me if I bought a V6.

i think even a countach would fail to match the exotic magnificence of a turbo interior
i know what you mean about the v6. its something i keep coming back to as a 'do want' kind of car but i reckon the driving experience [if not the soundtrack] could only disappoint. a friend in dubai had one and he says his 172 that followed it was by far the better car on road and track. given the price differential it's a lot of wedge to throw at 'theatre' especially when there's far more interesting options for the money.
i did give a lot of consideration to the 8k car but it was a jdm [badged as a lucia] with some weird additions and had been stood in the same dealer for 3 years. the fact he told me it had just come in was my main cue to leave.
still want one though!
