The Best ///M/Barge/General Rant/Look at this/O/T (Vol XVII)

Oooh. I've been tempted by both of those previously.
I think the FRP will be the better all round car (and likely better value for a decent one, if not cheap as the proverbial fist full of deep-fried potato shards), but the 205 rewinds the clock in an unusally distracting way. I'm clearly past my best in terms of age, heh. Drove a baggy one once and even that was a bit special on the local loop...
Not tried a puma but understand they are the shizzle. Other than rust. Mainly.

FRP all the way for me loons, one of those better than the sum of its parts cars (I've never rated the 205 that highly if I'm honest, even in period).

No idea, tried googling "Jimmy Saville with Countach"?I think they are more or less equally desirable for different reasons - you wouldn't be disappointed with either.The FRP is rarer and arguably slightly more special as a result but the 205 remains one of the most handsome / agile hatches ever made. Still looks well resolved and fresh to me. The FRP is a sexy little thing though - just enough added meaningful purpose to the stances. Both are cars that arouse the urge to get in and pedal rapidly over interesting terrain
On an unrelated note;
A good friend of mine has just completed his book which is a witty and fascinating history of the various cars he has owned over the years, will be a great read and the profits go to a charity that I have long supported too (Little Havens Childrens Hospice)

Bloody Marvelous!
(Extra geek points for naming the character and film that is cryptically referenced above).
Older cars for the win, especially those three which are among my favourite works ever (and probably my favourites by each marque, p - Daytona run close by the 250LM). I honestly think that on an unlimited budget, 98% of my vehicles would pre-date catalytic converters
ETA: Pre-ordered!
