And is is right that there no way from telling from the letters and numbers how many cylinders each engine has? (or at least not without further beardage to actually know that an S14 was only a 4 cylinder, and an M88 was a 6 cylinder, etc.)

Actually this wikipedia table is pretty helpful.

Where's Zwolf when you need him? hehe

Where is Zwolf full stop? Is he still around on here? I haven't seen a post from him in ages.

on the subject of BMW's and modified cars i'm not sure this will be appreciated on this thread but warrants a post, personally I really like bits of it (colour and wheels) but it's probably a bit too low and 'scene' but here goes, just in case getmecoat

The poster formerly known as Zwolf reinvented himself as 4941cc (another one for the ///M beards methinks).

Doesn't look as though he's been around here since last August. frown

Equates to the cubic capacity of the M70 V12 engine as originally fitted to the E32 750i, of which our esteemed threadist had two.

Shame we've lost Len.

I had to quote PRT just to keep the mangled Englandish for posterity.

Weird to see they group the M88 and the M90 together.

Very different donkeys.
Blocks are almost identical though.

Never seen one before, so mildly interesting.

I took one look at it, decided the photos seem to have been taken on an overcast day at a resort on the Costa del Plonka, and rashly assumed it to be a scam.

But if genuine, then I agree - he's going to be waiting a long time before he gets an offer anywhere near the asking.

Let's see some more about your CS then Gruber!

MattOz had the front to sell "mine" to someone else when he'd done with it wink In many ways that's a good thing, I think. However, I do miss the snarl of the cold start in the garage. And the ferocity with which is approached the redline.
