I learnt it in 1995 at Le Mans on the back of a CBR600.

Never again.

Oh I don't know, you fit the bill of not taking up much space nor being detrimetal to the power-to-weight ratio. wink

I know, I've been considering revising the phone book on my mobile, which currently has you listed as "Ballast"....

Loon - Nice pix.

shirt - props for the m12 GTO. Big fan despite the meh interior, they drive very nicely indeed for an MR car with FI. Quick and sound rather nice with great steering / damping all-round capability / progression. One of those with an NA lump and slightly nicer interior would be spot on (and probably about £100k in today’s money, sadly – see Evora 400).

1200 miles and now nicely run in. One wet TF but sunny open pit lane at Nürburgring & Spa. Couldn't be happier.

(991GTS is fantastic btw, anyone who slates modern porsche for being too sanitised has their card marked as not knowing what they're on about in my book)

LOH wins Saturday post of the month wink

So hows the CTR on road and track? Rabid I expect!

I've not really read any reviews but I'd imagine it to be a bit of a giggle.

ETA: CTR makes even the bustle-backed Meg look svelte in the derrière region hehe

I didn't drive the Type-R and R26.R back to back on this trip simply as we were all so busy lapping though I have done plenty in that particular car but my mate who owns it said there still felt like a decent weight advantage between the two. In fact in his words the Type-R was perfectly in between the Meg and the 911.

The Type-R itself however, is a great bit of kit. I know it's subjective but it feels special and that is a very rare thing indeed, it reminds me so much of the GTR we used to take out to the 'ring which is a massive compliment. A car park full of exotica at the 'ring and it still drew loads of attention-I can't remember the last time someone asked to have their picture taken with my car (it probably was the GTR)! Same on the ferry on the way back, people stopping to chat about the car and wanting pictures.

I'm going to be doing a readers cars thread and I'll expand on things in that but it is quick, not hot hatch quick but proper, silly quick smile

Things I love;
Exhaust note, chuntering tightly wound diff, lack of torque steer, seats and general interior, the semi-track rubber, lack of intrusion from the stability control, practicalities for the family.

Things I don't;
Let's be honest, it's practically an MPV that's been barried!

Great pic LOH, and congrats on the Type-R. I do like a bit of added lairiness with hot hatches

Looking forward to seeing your readers thread on the new type R; did you give up waiting for the right R26.R to pop up for sale ? Loving the one in your pic, 8 years on they still look so purposeful.

Do like those Petrolicious vids. However, and it's probably just me, but I'm really not a fan of Evo wheels on anything other than Evos

It's quiet in here today...

I've just blatantly stolen this from the PH front page - mostly because I love it!!
