Probably have to hang my head in shame in here, but I really like these. Never seen one in the flash though, but was reminded of them in another thread.

I was looking at that very advert just the other day thinking these were an interesting curio. And then I popped into West London Audi and had a poke around an S1 (which some of the reviews suggest is actually a slightly better car). Trouble is, it felt like I was sitting on a dining chair, even with the seat in its lowest position.

Strangely temptng though as a little nippy, grippy pocket rocket.

I've always been strangely tempted by one of these... Think it is the wheels!

I'm a sucker for white, rally inspired rims!

Another, potentially over-priced, VAG product I have an irrational liking for: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C657420?dt=1

There is something nicely post modern about that design.

Hey, I didn't say I liked it...

The Concept 1 though is such a lovely bit of design.

And the daft fast Beetle from the side elevation really highlights its origins.

Parked next to one at the 'ring years & years ago. It's incredible how bespoke/special they look when seen in the "plastic", really trick bits of kit when you see them.

I doubt it's the amount of cabbage they've speculatively got it up for.

Even if it is a GT2.

Mine is a bit more discreet, and mixes in well with the TDis of this world when required wink

Except when someone shines a UV light on it

Love that M3 GT Coupe above, that's just proper!

I like that a lot. They got the styling absolutely spot on, IMHO.

These are beginning to appeal more than ever.

Are they heavy on the wallet?

Thanks. Only had it 6 months and very little miles, but so far it's consumed about £1200 in a bit of refreshing (mainly suspension bits), and there's a £1500 service coming up next week in with Audi (major, cambelt, waterpump, plus a few bits)

In the previous 10 years the last owner spent £18k on servicing and maintenance, although that was all with Audi too

I'm suspecting it's somewhere between E46 CSL and E34 M5 levels wink

It's GT, not a GT2, they all seem to be advertised at that sort of money.

But, you do realise the a RHD GT is not the same as a LHD GT?

Same colour and 'frock' but different engine internals?
