Quite.

Drive one (or its rival, the Mustang) and you might be surprised.

I was imagining something more around £15k, to be honest.
A good standard E46 M3 will set you back that, a CS probably more.

You're changing your argument now - is the clutch on this one brand new? There is an M5 manual available in the US so a clutch and flywheel must be available even if it needs modification, which isn't going to cost the Earth.
It's running an E90 M3 gearbox and, AFAIK, clutch.

For the record, I'm not sure it's worth £30k but I think you'd struggle to build one for much less unless you did all the work yourself.
I have no real argument there other than he did build it himself, according to the advert, so I'm not sure why people keep talking about a garage building it.
I doubt many people have the time, space or expertise to- that's what I was getting at.

That LS powered MX-5 looks lovely.

The build thread of my e46 is a good read. I didn't build it obviously. Some stuff which isnt even written in the thread the guy who built it started gushing when I talked to him. Simple stuff like the tube which goes from the inlet manifold throttle body down to air filter. This was custom made and then during the rolling road tuning was found to be restrictive so it was recreated in thicker tubing. Sounds simple but when you see the bends and the welding [it is alloy] you realise small tasks like this take time and need care. It's a bit more involved than this tiny looking thing.

Doh! I forgot the Brightwells auction was this week - looks like (of the few lots that did sell) there were plenty of low prices.

£35k for a LHD 348 Spyder looks good value:

£2k for this 300SL:

£400 for this 928:

Just had a scan though that. Had to check it wasn't archived from 2010.

A grand for the lovely looking original 320i manual, £3200 for the 70k miler Silver Spirit with 20 stamps, £3200 for the smart looking 2.7 Box with 67k, and lots and lots of NS's

I blame Brexit.

My post from May...

Was chatting to the owner and creator of this today. His dad has owned a 7 litre corvette for 39 years. I wish he was my dad.

And they had the perfect donor for my LSx conversion, all for half a bag. biggrin

Still can't get my head around whether £17K is value or madness for the much admired RS2000 from earlier in The Thread. confused

I don't suppose it's too late to mention the sound of the Trackculture M3 V10 conversion when the exhaust diverter is open? I don't like how low it sits or the wheels, but can you hear F1 in that sound?

Bloody hell, that's a nice noise.

And yes, definitely sounds F1-ish to me.

Good God.

ETA - Jeremy could do a very good colour tribute to that photo with his own cars. hehe

I simply cannot get excited about the P1. And I'm a McLaren owner. Just doesn't do it for me, trying way too hard, styling is just ODD, I don't know, maybe it's me.

Porsche 918 on the other hand...

Too many edges I reckon. I guess it's got the go to suit the looks, it's not a Nova with a bodykit that's for sure...

I wonder what Mr Glickenhaus's version would look like.

Agreed on P1. Looks like it's trying too hard.

The 675LT on the other hand... I think this view is awesome:
