Time to admit to chavvery!

A previous owner of my BMW Z4 Coupe had it fitted with a custom cat-back system and it sounds great, although it isn't loud enough to be anti-social. Maybe I'm doing this wrong? laugh

I like some exhaust noise when it's a good sound, but can't stand those loud 2-wheeled tractor Harleys - they're just loud for the sake of being loud. mad

But a 2 or 3 cylinder 2-stroke with spannies, or a high revving 4 cylinder 4-stroke is lovely.

Getting back to cars, any petrol 6, V8, V10 or V12 always sounds great. As do some 4 pots, like a tuned Ford Kent engine running twin Webers - lovely!

I guess I must be council housed and violent.

Oh well, on with the noise.

I'm just half a chav, so far I've just done a rear resonator delete. Cold start it's a bit loud, but once warm it's no louder than standard.
To make things extra annoying for some on this thread it's just a 4 pot jap hatchback rofl

Our i30N sounds incredibly chavvy and loud for a 4-pot.

I love it.

My Clio 172 came with an aftermarket catback exhaust already fitted and I have no intention of swapping it back to a standard one. It passes emissions on every MOT and the decibel reading is suitable for most trackdays.

The exhaust and induction noise make me enjoy the car more, even if it doesn't add much to the performance. It might annoy some people that I drive round in a noisy car but that just makes me want to drive it even more biggrin

Chav here..
My exhaust was too restricted and quiet for my liking.. so asked for my system to be built to free up the flow, and release the V6 noise. Couldn't be happier wink

As for some of the opinions of others, I guess that's all they are.. Albeit a bit strong in their delivery. We all appreciate different cars, noises and styles, doesn't mean one person is a c*nt and the next a snob, does it? We're all on a piston heads forum, after all..
Some people just need to relax.
