I dropped my deposit on Wednesday but my dealer was still a bit vague on the details. not to sure if he has had a look at the training manual yet.

Don't get too excited, it's barely more than we all know already, I just presume most of the sales guys/gals have not read it yet. It's the only thing I've read so far that mentioned isofix though.

It also says that they don't start training courses for the RHD Mustang for a few months yet

I'm kind of hoping that the new mustang will affect used car prices for the older models. They seem to hold their value impressively well (same as the challenger and camaro). All I want is a sub £20k v8 American car thats not really old!

You can already get that, N/A V8's 2005 and onwards start at around £14k and go upwards and off hand I think you can get supercharged 2005/2006 V8's for less than £20k. You may even get a bargain if somebody wants a quick sale.

Nope. Of course not, but that's not to say the car can't make that power on higher octane. Cars are often quoted a figure on a specific fuel. Some cars need higher octane - the Coyote clearly doesn't over here (and does, there). It's marketing, I know. I didn't say it could or couldn't do anything.

Wait until Ford start actually delivering the new Mustangs. Then more owners will be selling up the older Mustangs to move on. Once there are a lot more older models on the market their prices will fall more.

I had a long conversation with my local Ford dealer today, and the Mustang did crop up. Of most interest was that he believed the GT350 would be coming over, albeit not for a very long time. I didn't even ask, he offered the information, so I guess he has a source but I'd take it with a pinch of salt. Same story in terms of availability, no demonstrators for at least half the year and deliveries earliest Q4 2015.

Depends on the owner, I won’t be as the cost to change from my 2006 Auto GT to a 2016 Auto GT (in yellow) is going to be somewhere in the region of £21k (and that’s being generous on the value of my car) which is quite a lot of money I think you will agree. Money which a) I don’t have and b) if I did I’d rather spend it making mine go much, much faster.

Had a call last week from the dealer saying he has heard back from Ford US confirming my order and will be contacting me to welcome me to the Mustang family!

I know theres lots of talk about buying a car undriven, I understand this but ordered my M3 without driving one. There are plenty of reviews on youtube and they are all positive.

I feel in my waters it will be good and will be history in the making (first ever RHD Mustangs) so can't go wrong and fancy prices will stay strong. Therefore drive it for a year and could move it on "should" it not be to my liking.
Which I find hard to believe and come out the other side with a "small" loss.

4.5 to 60, loads of torque, 4 seats, big boot, independent suspension, 5.0 V8, plenty of toys it's a lot of stuff for not a lot of money IMO.

Ford will want this to work, so I'm guessing it will. Roll on November.

Yeah, don't think you will lose out in any way shape or form.

I think people will ignore them until they start appearing on the roads and that will create a bigger buzz than being able to order one.

Just want to order one now.

I talked to Sandicliffe in Leicester and they were taking 1k deposits as well.

He sounded like he'd had the conversation about Mustangs a lot recently and claimed that they had had many more enquiries than they thought they might. Although salesman are always keen to make it seem like you might miss out I guess...

He wasn't expecting anything until much later in the year as far as demonstrators went.

Could be that he means the Shelby GT, Auto Express have put an article out saying that we'll be getting that at some point.

• UPDATE FROM FORD*

I have talked to Ford Head office, namely the Mustang Priority team.

They have told me any orders people have placed are no final and are basically been but into a waiting list. As Ford have not accepted any yet from any dealer.

What happens is the first 130 contest winners will have there orders taken, and only that 130 are most likely going to be shipped by the end of 2015, and all other orders will come 2016.
