Saw this on the road in London this morning! 5 litre model, looked really good.

Maybe it's just me, but the rear overhang looks too long (but there again it is American....)

Sandicliffe in Leicester have emailed me saying they have one in for viewing tomorrow evening and Wednesday. No drives I think but an opportunity to have a look round one in the flesh...

That's a fetching shade of Salmon Pink ! I hope that is your camera being a bit ropey and not the actual colour, other than the strange colour, it looks pretty good.

Looks pretty overexposed to me, especially if you look at the colour of the National Express writing on the bus behind it.
Think this is more the correct colour (I have very basic image editing skills...)

And then there's much to be gained in a discussion about handling (the Yanks tend to focus on road-holding; the Brits understand that it's also about what happens when road-holding becomes tenuous). But that's a topic for another day!
Just to be a cheeky sod, it's technically another day - are you saying about the US habit of going "it can do 1.x lateral G" regardless of how it feels to drive?

There are a few LHD cars in the UK now. It looks as though the rear lights are red, which points to a US car.

Torch red needs a bit of sunlight to make it really look good. Here's my old S197, on a trip to Reims 7 years ago.

Would I have a new one? Dunno, the car has matured nicely, but I think I'd go classic these days.

My local ford dealer has one up on a plinth. IMO, in the flesh it looked quite boring. It was in black though, and obviously viewed at a funny angle.

It's a big car, and yet it has absolutely no rear leg room. Bit disappointed tbh, carting the 3 year old round at the weekends would be a pain in the neck, if not impossible.

Still, be nice to have a drive of one and see if they live up to hype.

Yeah, 3 year olds are known for their massive, rugby-player-like legs.

Amputate at the knees. It's the only way forward...

The drivers seat, in a comfortable driving position had maybe 5" of space behind it. I'm only 5'9". Means the kiddie seat can't be tilted back for her to sleep on longer journeys comfortably and even getting her in and out of the thing will be annoying.

Sorry to be captain sensible pants but some of us have kids to think about and for the size of the car, the rear leg space is miserly to say the least.

I'd wager it's not much different to an XKR, probably better than a 911; a GT86 is pretty poor. You know what, none of those are marketed as family cars either.

Thinking outside the box...couldn't you put the child seat behind the passenger seat?

If I was on my own, sure. But if I'm taking the girlfriend along as well then there is the same problem.

A GT86 is a small car, so I'd expect a lack of space. This thing is not small at all. I don't think I'm being unreasonable here in imagining it should have had more space than it does. But hey because I have a family I guess I'm st out of luck.

I'm not sure you're looking at the right car to be honest. Coupes shouldn't have rear seats at all, just a long boot.

Your girlfriend's seat position probably isn't as important, due to the fact that she doesn't have any pedals to operate.

The XKR isn't a small car; it has fk all rear legroom.

You're st out of luck if you expect a non-family car to be your only vehicle if you have a family. st happens, it's not Ford's fault. Get a VXR8 instead, or a secondhand C63 or M3.
