With 993 rs's going for 250k, the 996 GT3 looks cheap (I believe they are c.50k for a half decent one). The kettle generation cars will never look as good as the air cooled gen though.

Utter bks marketplace for GT3's right now. Annoying as I want another but won't spunk 15K + overs just because some gimp in that London wants to add one to his collection.
Not sure what London has got to do with it. Besides, surely it is the Asian economy that has resulted in a fair few being exported?
They all live in That London. I have a scientific graph and some deep insight to prove it. I got them when I put some made up numbers into a spreadsheet so it must be fact.

As a young petrolhead, these trends make me more and more furious. My salary and finances aren't growing at the rate that these cars seem to be!

I think quoted weight is 1340kgs, so he's off the hook.

LOL, stone the blasphemer.

Obviously I disagree but there's no right or wrong answer. The original (996.1 and 996.2) were plenty quick in the right hands. That was the beauty of them. They required a very specific technique to get the most out of them. It took me several years to get it right. It also spoiled me into not having any desire to buy a modern supercar again, most of which I tend to find are dominated by transmission and electronics. Deeply impressive, but just not my thing. The 996 and 997 were total immersion experiences and that's why I think of them as the greatest driver's cars ever built. Dammit, it took me so long to learn to drive them, I'm not giving up that hard earned knowledge.

If I were to buy a modern supercar with a six-figure price tag, I'd look to complement the 996 already in my garage - in other words, I'd have no interest in the all-out racer wannabes but instead focus on the GTs, the cruisers, the beautifully crafted daily driver performance cars. I've got a real hankering for a second hand McL 12C, the new AMG-GT or the i8 right now. But not the 991 or the 458. Hard to explain.
