For me it's a MK2 MR2. Not expensive, has no racing history and is pretty much seen as one for the ladies but it was my first sports car and I think they're are fantastic, especially in JDM GT form.

Agree. In turbo form. Not that I'm biased.

I think for me it'd be the 2000GT.

A couple more years before it's officially a classic, but R32 Skyline GTR for me every time. Just perfect

With the Mr 2s... The mk1s as an over all experience is much ... Racier ? Love the sound of the 4age engines ... Probably why I like the Ae86 corolla ..

As for the R32 gtr... A sure classic.

its difficult to pick just one but the toyota 2000gt as already mentioned is probably the holy grail of a japanese classic. FJ land cruiser would be on the list if i could have more than one.

1991 CRX VTEC in Celestial Blue.

OK - purely personal as I bought mine in 1994 at a time when most Honda owners were 70+.

So many good memories, great journeys/holidays and a great girlfriend at the time. Both the car & missus were mega reliable and neither are in my life any more frown

Lottery win classic Jap now - 240z

What's the cutoff for 'classic' status? Insurance defined or not? These are my favourite but they don't go back that far, I love alot of the 70's & 80's stuff

I love all of these;

I just love these, the start of the proper GTR's

Who can say no to pop up headlights? This could also have a digi-dash (which could fail a fair bit) but looks so good. It's the first car I drove in Gran Turismo too wink

I really enjoyed the anime and the proper reviews with it's cheap simplicity. I wish they hadn't be turned into drift machines and ruined frown

These two may be pushing it;

I love the styling of this and think it was totally futuristic despite coming out in 1989.

Could ramble for hours on the bottom one, mainly because I've bought it, but for a car that came out in 1993 it is relatively close in performance terms (and weight/power) to a BMW Z4 a car 16 years it's junior really makes it a stand out machine.

For me it's the Turbo MR2 or FC RX7.

I have no idea how the FC goes though, never been in one.

The FD is a very close 3rd for me, and then the R32 GTR in 4th and Subaru Impreza 22B in 5th.

RX7 with an LS transplant and screw the classic status.

Changing my vote... Definitely the FD RX7 if that gets 'classic' status.

Which it does.

And immediately increases the value by 50% biggrin
