I went to Italy in 1999 to pickup my unseen Lancia Integrale Evo. Awesome car and totally mint. Drive back over the Alps was inspiringsmile
Great car! That's some trip, too.

Scottish Highlands here. 1060 mile round trip to Brentford in west London to buy my M5. To Manchester for my 530d - about 600 miles total.

Thinking about it, all the used cars I've bought have come from south of the border. The car market up here in the Highlands (Inverness, really) is very 'soft' (expensive). Also, cars from England will have been exposed to less salt so should last longer, and there's more choice down in the 'shire.

The new cars I've bought have been delivered to my door on car transporters from England and always cheaper than from any Scottish dealer. Crazy really.

i flew london to newcastle to buy my current car. it was from a dealer, lowest mileage available and the unusual colour that i was after. it was not quite as described when i got there, and tbh if it was local i might have not bought it. i decided to buy it, and am glad i did, the initial disappointment is long gone and it was definitely the right car to buy
