RE: Maserati GranTurismo S Auto: PH Carpool
Discussion
I am just getting ready to sell my 09/59 GT-S Auto (swapping private plate off)
Despite spending considerable time looking at alternatives to replace it with, it is very hard to see past a newer one of these glorious vehicles without getting into very silly money territory (Ferrari FF).
Of the others that I tried, the only one that came close for my tastes was an Aston Martin Rapide and I don't think they represent as good value for money as the Maser personally.

Well I've had mine nearly three weeks now. Only managed to put about 500 miles on it due to other commitments though. Initial thoughts:
Felt a bit slow compared to my 997 Turbo, but got used to that now;
The fuel consumption is properly comedic (9mpg round town when cold), but you can get it up to 28.5mpg on a long run if driven gently
The noise is truly epic - the You Tube videos etc do not do it justice
I love the flappy paddles, with the car blipping throttle on downchanges
The infotainment system isn't as as bad as people make out but it is bloody complicated. I sat in the car with the manual, and it took me a good couple of hours to get fluent with it.
It's not a car for the shy or those tryign to be discreet. People stop, stare, point, take photos, and engage you in coversation. The whole time. This happened about 4 times in 2 years of 911 Turbo ownership. With this car it's every trip.
In short, it's marvellous, and if you can, you should.
