I seem to remember you could get add on packs with more cars and tracks for test drive 2.
Yup, on the PC you got an F40 and a 959 then you could expand it with the "Supercars" add on which was a ZR1 and a Lotus Esprit I think, or the "Musclecars" which I never bothered with but had a Camaro and a GTO, maybe a couple more.I remember most of these, being an old bd. My favourite driving game of all time was Rallisport Challenge on the original XBox. I had mine hooked up to a projector and wasted a ridiculous amount of time playing against a friend.
From the 8 bit days, one that sticks in my mind was Trans Am on the ZX Spectrum

Wasted many childhood years on Lotus III on the Amiga, Nigel Mansell on the SNES, but the turning point game for me was the original Need for Speed.
Proper road like tracks, realistic(ish) traffic, graphics that were recognisably cars, you could even use the horn and handbrake!
It even had a couple of light hearted cop clips for when you got busted!

Classic! - Honda NSX, Diablo VT and... the 512TR! 20 odd years later my budget wouldn't quite stretch to one of those, so I bought the next best thing.

Can anyone remember the name of the game that was a top down car game where you could drop oil traps and shoot missiles at other racers to win. I think it was on the C Amiga

Those quips by the driver guy were amazing at the start (OMG! FMV! LOLZ!), got really tiresome after a while, then you kind of came to like them, and finally you played the game just to hear them (or maybe not!).Classic! - Honda NSX, Diablo VT and... the 512TR! 20 odd years later my budget wouldn't quite stretch to one of those, so I bought the next best thing.
Shame that the 512TR was the only game in town as far as fast times were concerned, except for the Diablo on the first stage of the city course where its slightly higher top speed could get you close to the Ferrari. A more even spread of ability would've been nice.
