So after having recently bothered with a mini-detail on my car (never again - what is the point in London) I have come back to my car to find some motherfking has either whacked it really hard with their door / handle bar / trolley and has gone through a st load of layers of paint and stuff, assuming I need to get this fixed otherwise it'll just fk the rest of the paint up etc.

It's Obsidian Black Mercedes - Can anyone recommend a paintshop or dent repair / chips away firm that can help with this? Don't really want to spend more then £100 if I can help it.

London - but I am happy to travel a little if needed.

Don't need the fking expense at the moment (never a good time anyway)

Next to an adjoining panel ? it really should be blended being a metallic, also the handle should come out as should the mouldings, doubt £100.00 will sort it out.

Best punt it round some body shops and get some quotes.

It's the rear quarter.

I'm so fking pissed off right now. fk sake. Even when you park away from every other you still end up with fking st on your car.. fk sake - May have to resort to online shopping only at this rate.

fking going to end up costing a stload. I know what my Mercedes approved bodyshop is like.

Thanks for the email,

I will have a look and think about the next course of action. Part of me just thinks leave it who even gives a fk, I'll spend on it and some other will come along and put another dent / scratch or scuff in.

Need to go to the gym and calm down.

I used these smart repair guys http://www.revive-uk.com/

They were very good and the car came back looking like new.

Was £900 in total for all four alloys, about 6 decent sized scratches and some pretty serious scuffing to the bumper.

So, i'd guess circa £100-150 for that and they may be able to do something

OP is it dented or just the paint?

If it's not dented just get a touchup stick from Merc and see how it looks ,after a while you won't even notice it!

Not really dented nope,

If it was dented it would be more of a pin prick dent, it's just a chunk of paint,

Happy to try a touch up pen, more worried I will make a complete hash of it and worried about if the paint will become damaged around it has it has been chipped so hard.

My concern is the number of layers it's gone through, either some has let their trolley roll into it or whacked their door into the paint (HARD)

fking s.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Thinking of using this:

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repai...

or this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Mercedes-Benz-To...

anyone had any experience of using either and have any tips?

Due to the nature of the damage and living in London I just can't see the point of a SMART repair or bodyshop repair, I despair trying to keep my car immaculate in London, too many s on the road and in car parks etc.

if it was me i would prefer a neat honest touch in , built up to the same level with a few coats , that way the panel is still 99% orignal and no concerns about dodgy colour matches and shoddy smart repairs done in the street

I wouldn't recommend Revive!

They came out to refurb my wifes alloys and ended up getting silver overspray all of the car, and doing a st job of repairing the alloys. In the end they paid for my car to be detailed and Pristine in MK to refurb the wheels 'properly'. Totally amateur operation

Going to go with the Halfords kit, apparently it's much better to use, comes with primer, paint and lacquer.

Now to test my skills as I've never done this before.

Maybe time to watch youtube videos.

Thanks everyone.

Leave it. Let the car pick up another couple of dings and thereafter you'll find yourself taking a lot more philosophical attitude to the more trivial trials of life. Am sure if I washed my car I'd find the odd blemish here and there, but hey, I'm too busy enjoying driving it.

Seems like you got a bad fanchisee there.

My mate runs 2 franchises and can't keep up with demand. Good staff is everything, seems like sadly you have a bad franchise near you.

My mate repaired the front of my Jag when it got very deep scratches in the bumper. When done you wouldn't have known.

Those Halfords kits really are pretty good, got one for my Rover (this came with a lacquer as well) and had one when I had my Merc (which didn't), damned good matches on both (I went back and got a custom mixed pot for the Alfa as well). I'll give Halfrauds their due, they maybe a bit of a rip off in certain areas (headlight bulbs spring to mind) but their paint kits are affordable and a good match, so far (even on sixteen year old paint).
