308 Peugot from a E36 BMW Coupe
Discussion
Although there is no comparison, I purchased a 308 Peugeot 16hdi to replace my For Sale on Piston Heads BMWE36 Coupe, we are into retirement so the money area has become tight, after sorting the valet out on this car I fully Serviced, washed the Underside " Yes the Underside" as I do with every car I have owned including the removal of the Wheel Liners ( Sad Sod Aren't) I have always treated my cars this way, on servicing the car I noticed the Disc's looked as if they were 20+years old due to Rust, another Issue the NS/+Front / Read Doors contained about 1/2 Gallon of water due to the very small drain holes under the Door / Door Seal, after twisting the seal the water released & the door was empty of water, I contacted Peugeot UK over this Issue, I stated the Discs & the Door Drain, I emailed saying if I wanted a swimming pool added to my car I would have bought a Paddling pool, the car is a 2008, their response, have a word with your local Dealer, how's that for Service? has anyone else had Issue with the same car?

I also have a 2008 308, early on in ownership I started noticed a faint sloshing sound ocassionally, traced it to the rear nearside passenger door with some detective work. The cure is to pull the rubber seal from the base of the door slightly and let it drain. I believe what happens is the window seal allows water and dust/dirt down into the door which blocks the drain hole, just a design fault. Having said that, I've not had to drain any water out for about 6 months now.
The discs, without use will look rusty. Also, they could be the originals, at 8 years old now! Time to replace, don't worry.
Yes, they do allow a bit of water in, the dealership mod as such, enlarge the drain holes. Its simple, apart from that you have purchased a damn comfy car. Enjoy it

It's quite correct as your contract of sale and liability for quality of goods is with the dealer you bought it from, not Peugeot UK. The only case in which they would become involved is if the vehicle was under manufacturer warranty and there was a disputed warranty claim/new car quality issue that the dealer was unable to resolve, or i fyou had already had appalling customer service from the dealer.
In any case, the dealer should be your first port of call with such issues, not the UK representative subsidiary of the manufacturer that biult your car 6-7 years ago, 3-4 years beyond any manufacturer's liability.

The door/scuttle drains usually block up when the car has been left parked under trees etc-sap/silt blocks up the drain holes.TWR
Seven year old unprotected iron/steel in corrosion shocker.
Unfortunately the issues you've come across are age/environment related rather than anything that is a defect that's been present from manufacture.
