I've always been a bit of a fan of estates I like the flat back look.

My 2 first cars where escort vans !

Anyways I currently drove a Audi A3 and the misses a swift we are talking about having one car between us and I've been looking at different brands

Audi bmw etc etc but I keep going back to looking at volvox on eBay.

The v40 v50 s60 I seem to like them all,

Loving the look of the interiorlayouts specs seem good and I actually like the outside looks of them.

Keep thinking about a moderately fast engined v50 with tinted windows etc.

Am I a bit mad or anyone else like them ?

Nope, I quite fancy either a V70 T5 or V40 T4. I'm yet to drive a car as comfy as a V70.

I'm 22 and always been toying with the idea of a s60r

Volvo hands down sell the best looking normal cars, the current s60 and the xc60 look great.

I love small fast saloons and a s40 t5 is a real option vs a focus St

You totally shouldn't buy a Volvo because you said "Am I getting old? Fancy a Volvo" so really the only thing old about here is the cliche...

Think that image was dropped kicked out the park in about 1987...

Currently wafting around in a V70 T5, 2001, beige, with beige heated leather, 110k and just sailed through its mot for another year. The most unassuming box on the road but hugely practical and pretty rapid when it needs to be.

Heated leather...
Enough reason, everything else is more than adequate, but those seats are fantastic.

We've got one - an 04 V70, geartonic, 2.5 turbo (petrol), AWD. It's brilliant. We paid 2750 for it off a mate two years ago (inc 12 months tax and MOT) with 80K and FVSH. It's unmarked and had every single OE option box ticked, so it has all the heated leather, climate, TV, phone, electric seats, dog guard, sunroof, roof rails, spoiler blah blah. Stereo is monster. Every gadget works, really well made. Goes like stink for it's size, but the handling is a bit comedy!

I've been toying with the idea of buying a Volvo too. Opinions on this one would be welcome:

Not an easy colour to sell on and the inbuilt phone is a waste of time, but other than that looks decent.

Looks exactly like mine!!! I paid 1400 quid for ours, back in Sep last year, with 5 months t and t on it. I needed something with the bars to cart the four of us, plus bikes, to a Center parcs break in October. I only intended keeping it a couple of months, but I have grown attached.

I have a 62 V60 T3. Great fun, only complaints are the ridiculous "hand" brake and the High seat. It's very comfortable but the MPG suffers a little as I love using the Turbo. Silly amount of added kit. Dog guards, bag guards etc.

They do get under your skin, it has to be said. I also think they are attractive looking cars. If you want one, buy one. Sod what anyone else thinks.

Always had a soft spot for them since my old man had a V70 as a company car (5 cylinder)

I really like the C30. If you can afford the fuel for the 2.5l engine from the focus ST, rapid too.

I've had Volvos ever since my first one, a 240 GL estate. 1985 at the age of 24, if memory serves.

My wife has a V50 and loves the car - it is the third Volvo she has had.

It's a good solid reliable workhorse that has never let her down in four years ownership (it was two years old when she had it)

Be prepared for only average fuel consumption if you buy a petrol one and you must go for the SE to get the goodies (Heated leather, reversing sensors, climate etc).
