Anything pre 1974 would be good, I would put it in a 109' rag top Series II Land Rover. I would love a hot Morris Traveller as well but I think a V8 like that would be wrong / wasted.

Is there enough room in the engine bay of the MG/Rover 75's?
yep, they did the 4.6 V8 mustang
But a normal 4 cylinder or V6 wouldn't work. They're structurally very different to the V8.

An old Jaguar with a dead engine is good. That's a common swap in America.

Remove a TVR designed and built, race-derived flat-plane crank V8 and replace with a ten-a-penny Yank crate engine?
rofl

Why is it you don't see people transplanting TVR engines into these kind of projects

Let me think...........
Probably because an LS engine can be bought and delivered in a crate for peanuts, after all there's enough of them being built to benefit from economies of scale.

some great ideas here!

I am sure that the rx7/8 and Silvia options would work well, but they lack character to me.

I think something pre catalyst is always a bonus, and like people say; without can bus.

Favourite so far is jag xj6 I think that could actually work! A bit like the roadkill draguar.... But better finished....

This ls3 does look like great value!

One thing I woul like most is that low inertia feeling of lightweight internals when you Rev an engine....

A bit like the merc m156....

Keep the ideas coming!

Don't mean to be argumentative, but a crated LS7 would cost north of £10k delivered.
I can buy a Chimera for less than that.

OP - if you can fit one in a Manta GTE that would be awesome
A Chimaera uses a Rover V8, not the Cerbera's AJP8. The LS would suit the Chimaera quite well. But not a Cerbera.

LSA will get you to 800+ very easily smile
You're not wrong but you need it wrapped in a Monaro smile

Oh, and my vote goes with a Rover SD1.

Strange as I was discussing LS3 into a LRDefender, this morning.
I know it has been done but for sale at silly prices. If anyone is interested in 'group buy' of such a project do let me know please.

A bit of an odd ball choice here, but I'd love to see a V8 in an Alfa GTV. Of course it would be a massive project as you would need to convert it to RWD! However to counterbalance that they are very cheap, have classic beautiful looks, plus of course no one else has done it. An affordable 8C for mere mortals.

On a serious note, if I were going to do something like this, I'd use the LS3 rather than an LS7.
I own a Z06 and that replaced a Camaro with the LS3 and I've also driven the ZR1 with the LS9.

Despite the ZR1 being more powerful, in comparison to the Z06, it's a pussycat.
The power delivery from the LS7 is brutal and you need an awful lot of rubber on the rear end to get the power down.
Mine has 325 rears and it can still be a challenge. ( i'm in no way shape of form a driving god type, so probably doesn't help)

A modified LS3 would be far more usable, though having a hand build 7.0V8 that revs to 7000 is quite nice
This. - and yes it is. (sob)

My neighbour's BMW X5 (2 litre diesel X-drive m-sport) has 315 tyres on the rear and he has no problem putting the power down. You must be doing it wrong smile

Swerni, is there much difference in the sound from these different LS engines? 7000 revs and 7 litres should sound amazing.

Would love to see one in the back of a Honda CRX.

While we're at it we might as well do this...........

Not Swerni but yes.

Especially if you replace the stock exhaust or do the well known exhaust mod.

It is epic.

Also - with the exhaust baffles - you can actually drive long distances and still be sane. ( Pull fuse 22 - and install remote control )

Mine has 1 7/8" long tube headers, dual 3" cat back exhaust and no cats. Cam with lots of exhaust duration and a big supercharger. Revs to 7k rpm and yes, you can hear it from half a mile away when flat out. Love it biggrin

Lovely sounding V8. An LS in something sounds very tempting to me. My Merc V8 CLS was pretty dull in comparison to these.

I live about five mins from MB world. If any of you guys are in this neck of the woods it would be cool to see and hear some of your motors.

Mine left about this time last year. Swerni is on your doorstep.
