I'm a tt with a Civic but I couldn't describe myself as Civic fan. It's not a bad car but it's just a car

Modern ones I mean, like VXR Online and Fiesta ST OC. I lasted about 5 minutes on VXR Online, they just argue about slamming cars and what colour temperature of HIDs to get.

Older hot hatches, however, seem garner a following of passionate and knowledgeable people.
Because finance. It's so easy to get the car of your dreams now, but instead of paying off early, any extra dosh is spent on crap upgrades. These are of course the cars that have an early end. Just imagine how uneven the wear is on components.

Just mention timing chain smile

(and yes, i've just done the head gasket on my zr lol)

Have to agree with OP regarding....VAG wagon sightings/road manners....let's face it VW have the best marketing engineers in the industry....maybe the drivers/buyer think they are now winners club and must always succeed and be first.... I have achieved....and I will keep on achieving at whatever I do. Really apart from a few sporty models most are dull as dish water, FWD, Diesel, Overpriced, not particularly well built, and have terrible warranty record. This is not 80's VW....so maybe there road manners are due to the fact they have realised they have been had by the marketing dept.getmecoatredcardhehe

I'd say modern car fans are the best, less parasitic loss as they are electric not crankshaft driven. Viscous ones are ok though, as long as you keep on top of their condition and replace when the clutch is buggered.

Oh... Wait...
Old car fans are cool, but not as cool as the modern car fan

It's a shame. Even the RS3 with its 5 pot isn't right as an Audi... They should just make cars once, like the quattro, instead of rehashing them every few years.

Fiesta ST OC isn't that bad, quite a lot of helpful people on there I've found.

The car fans that tend to annoy me the most are the ones who are apparently incapable of realising the car culture in other countries is (A)different to their own, and (B)no less valid.

Some prime examples are certain Americans (or Australians) who can't handle the idea that a petrolhead doesn't have to have a big barge with a V8, or lovers of small hatchbacks who don't realise that the whole hot-hatch thing never really happened outside Europe.

Its been said before that almost all one model groups are full of swivel eyed buffoons who explode when the shortcomings of their 'pride and joy' are pointed out to them in a fair and level headed way.

Its madness I tells you.

Such a load of guff.

How hold are you? Did you whine about BMW owners in the 80s driving around thinking they were so much better than Sierra and Cavalier drivers, did you ever meet a Jaguar owner in the 60s who was convinced their car was only very marginally off Rolls Royce quality for half the price.

Do you think Ford Model T owners would go around thinking they are superior to everyone who still had to cycle everywhere?

Have you ever listened to anyone with a Korean car tell you how great their warranty is or a Prius owner who thinks they are saving the planet? Lets not forget those who drive diesels and preach about how they get 50mpg and think everyone has the same attitude to saving money on fuel as them?

st thread!

Never heard this about VW. Outside of this forum they are probably the least offensive make/model of car on the road.

No particular make or model, but I find that anyone wearing at least one item of clothing embazoned with the logo of their car is as blinkered as a Victorian cart-horse.

Or, possibly even worse, those who wear the clothes, but don't even own the car.
