RE: Delta Integrale Martini 5 goes to auction
Discussion
The only thing about low mileage cars is you pay heavily for each mile driven in depreciation. I had a very low mileage more classic car and I hated that every mile driven went straight to the bottom line quite savageley, while a slightly higher mile example bought for much less would have barely notiiced the extra miles.

As I said above - no-one will drive that, it's an object-d-pointless.Unless you take the James May "buy a toy train and throw the box away" mentality but the asking price is a bit steep for that ;0

No mention of the Lister Le Mans? A twin-supercharged 7 litre V12...

WOW, if that goes for the estimate it is an absolute bargain! My favorite car in the auction by a mile, regardless of price.https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/jaguar-lister
Sorely tempted to put my money where my mouth is and take a punt.
This for me is the best car Jaguar never made! And for the same estimate as an E30 M3, bonkers, one mass produced the other 600hp British icon.
I once almost bought one for £12,995 (early 90s) - from a Jaguar dealer no less - I'd gone in to look at an E30 325 Sport and the Lister was the same price (I ended-up buying neither - 2 mistakes in 1 trip!!)
As for the Lancia - do people really want a car which hasn't moved in a couple of decades - has had presumably little-or-no-maintenance in that time either (unless we're supposed to believe they've replaced most of the parts in the thing twice over for no reason!?)
It's an ornament isn't it?
(Do accept the Listers were struggling a lot more recently however)

Want!
Re: the Lister XJS:
It's an amazing car, but I want the Lynx Eventer! Never thought XJS' looked good, but evidently, turning one into a shooting brake transforms it into a highly desirable car, for me.
How about dropping the Lister 7.0 L drivetrain into the Lynx Eventer body?! That'd do it!

The Le Mans Coupe was capable of over 200 mph with the correct gearing and was the first production car to do so.
Hmm, I feel some Tifosi may take issue with that statement! In what way is that a production car? I feel it's more akin to the Callaway Sledgehammer in the US. Touted as the "fastest car in the world", but was clearly a modified (albeit very highly) 'Vette, not a production car. It's an amazing car, but I want the Lynx Eventer! Bought as a future investment with 400 being produced, i'd say that was a very clever move by the buyer knowing they'd make a killing in the future probably for their child(ren) etc either way very smart buyer(driven straight to house 31miles and immediately decommissioned and put in garage and just sit and wait) wow very good foresight indeed, now lets see if it makes the money being sort.
Assuming it was properly decommissioned and stored in a temperature and humidity controlled bubbleSeems a waste to me ... And imagine have that sort of temptation sat in the garage...
Not to mention, how much was it new, and how's that adjusted for inflation?
100k now was about 50k back then.
Then, as you said, the cost of keeping it pristine...
I have never, ever understood the premium the Martini Integrales attracted. They're limited in number, but so are all the other ones and they come in much more pleasant colour schemes.
I sold two delivery mileage Evos around 2002. One was a Martini, the other a Gialla. They were £18,000 each minus vat and needed a fair degree of love back then.

I'd have said it was completely obvious.I sold two delivery mileage Evos around 2002. One was a Martini, the other a Gialla. They were £18,000 each minus vat and needed a fair degree of love back then.
They have the rally livery. 99% of the cool and mystique about Delta Integrales comes from the rally effort and the success and the iconic Martini livery.
Same with having an Evo VI TME in the red with the stripe, or having an Impreza in blue with gold wheels. Far cooler than a normal one, IMO Imprezas have never looked right unless they're in that combo.
