Went to look at a Jag XK8 they had- assured it was perfect, etc. Slightly overpriced but not massively for a good specimen.
I insisted on a new MOT as the existing one had about 2 weeks to run. "No need, it'll fly through for you". I told them I wasn't buying without it so they duly MOTd it.
It needed about £2k spending to get through the MOT & put the major faults right and they flat out stated that this would be the buyer's problem rather than theirs. Obviously I walked away but got nagging phone calls about it and how it would be a bargain if I'd just bite the bullet & buy it.
Don't walk away from them; run.
