http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2013-Jaguar-XF-3-0-V6-Di...

Afternoon peeps. Been scrolling the eBay today. Come across a nice XF

After looking through the photo there seems to be a quality issue. I can see the guy has cut into the floor with something but if you look at the rest of the sill and general molding of the underside of the car, it seems that the new Jags may not be very good on the quality side of things

What do you all think? Yeah your right im bored right now smile

It says this in the ad?

This vehicle has been registered as D category due to very light undercarriage damage as picture number 12 shown. The damage was plastic engine cover broken and 3cm lower panel cut only. (Repair cost me £350 invoices from Jaguar dealer available to produce)
This vehicle has never involved in any sort of accident, all panel, body and paint are original from manufacture. There is no replacement or repair to any body panel for this vehicle, No air bags deploy or chassis damage or panel damaged or repaired. The damage is only little cut underneath as picture shown.
Please do not ask me why the vehicle is cat D due to that very light cosmetic damage as that question is the insurance only can answer it. All I'm sure about it that the vehicle is never been involved in any sort of accident and no air bags or chassis damage at all. I'm 100% confidence about this vehicle and I'm offer to anybody interest to run his own check with RAC or AA to pay full check cost if anything show deferent than what I stated here.

I read that but I was under the understanding that it was just that cut at the bottom. Look how badly rusted its getting..

Unless the insurer valued that car at about £500, a £350 repair wouldn't make it Cat D. There is something undisclosed.

It's made from a material called mild steel. Most cars are. If it's not coated properly, it rusts.

I reckon there is more to the Cat D than the seller is saying. And that would explain why things look a bit crappy.

Yes, because the rust protection has been breached by what looks suspiciously like some sort of beaching incident.
If you stab a beach ball, it'll deflate - if you smash the underside of a car with something hard and pointy where it's exposed to the elements, it'll rust.

The underside looks creased doesn't it?

Mind you, I'd have thought such a new car could be re-shelled if necessary, so still odd it was written off regardless of the extent of any damage.

The advertiser's definition of an accident is a bit unusual - unless he means the damage was deliberate!

I suspect that the £350 covered the replacement of part only (cooler of some kind?) shown in that picture. The seller smashed the rest of the damage back into shape with a Really Big Hammer, and fitted the replacement part (and any surrounding bits that were damaged when he drove off a 4ft high kerb onto a rock) himself.

Just me that thinks of something like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0wY-hvMC44

"I guaranty you will never disappoint with your purchase"

"Please DO NOT if you not willing to complete ....."

Seems legit...

Indeed, the car isn't actually recorded on MIAFTR so no insurer has recorded it as a CAT D

I reckon he's bodged something and isn't able to fix it and trying to pass off the damage as being related to a CAT D write off.

Is the driver's seat a bit baggy for a 16,000 mile car too? Or is that typical in an XF?

Passenger seat looks same, must be crap seats or heavy backsides

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. This is an odd one because there must be a serious problem if he thinks that claiming it's cat D will improve his chances.
