I prefer steel wheels, alloys are easily damaged and expensive to replace

The Fiat Barchetta steel wheels look great but go massively rusty.

In fact the standard fitment alloys are really nice too:

I ruined the ride of mine by lowering it and putting it on 17" alloys:

Apologies for the slight thread drift.

Steel wheels anyday, cheaper tyres, no air loss from corroded edges and great you use as a coffee table in the garage.

Partly posting because steel wheels, partly because what is it? http://www.autoblog.com/2017/01/26/volvo-xc90-pope...

XC90 with steels, and a stretched wheelbase and a load of metal fixed to the roof?!?

Article suggestions are weight testing for a commercial version, or a Popemobile.
It was a mule for the new London Taxi:

Volvo and the company that manufacters the London Taxi are both owned by Geely...

PS: taxi prototype is also running on steelies!

Like those OEM wheels too.
Don't like some of the alloys Barchettas came with, especially the 5 spoke starfish wheels the silver LE had but your 17s look nicer.
A previous owner of mine posted in my reader car thread and said it had alloys when he owned it not fitted when I bought it.
He posted a pic but it didn't show which wheels it had then.
Luckily my steels had been fully refurbished before purchase and 5 years later still in good condition.

Yep...mainly 'cause they beat back straight with a hammer (he says, after now fitting alloys...):

I had a set of steelies on my Corrado and loved them. Mostly positive comments about them too and definitely easy to keep clean.

It’s remarkable how much the front of a VW transporter looks like the back of a Fiat 126 or an old Polo or something.

A defender should never ever have alloys.
