Oh just listen to the grammar educated dork...just because someone makes a spelling mistake doesnt mean you need to pull them apart and make them look stupid. Ever made a mistake? No..of course not..
hehe you've got to love it when somebody calls you 'educated' as if it's an insult. And 'dork'? Bit like being back at school.

I doubt I'm any better educated than you are 22Rgt, state school until 'A'- levels and then a couple of years in and out of technical college. Thanks anyway.

ETA: For nostalgia's sake I just looked up my old school. It was placed into special measures the year after I left and re-opened as an 'academy' the next year. An exceptional education I had!

Although, maybe I was single-handedly propping up the school with my special dorky grammar skills scratchchin

Was offered an ex Mondello Park racing school Formula Vauxhall Junior for peanuts... Hugely regret not buying that, would have been great little sprint car and cheap as chips to run and maintain. frown

Elan Sprint - superb condition and owned by a Team Lotus mechanic; I couldn't get the £1200 he wanted in time. So upset I bought a 2CV - which was actually huge fun . Elan would have broke my heart but now would be worth 45k plus - the Citroen rather less.

I also kick myself for not purchasing a Lotus Cortina offered to me back in about 1988 for £1000.
10 years before you, I had the chance to buy a 1964 A Frame Lotus Cortina for £170...I walked because it was a rot box. Hind sight is a wonderfull thing !!

BMW Z8s when they were about 45k.
I did buy one... One of the last,a 2003 car with 7k in Topaz Blue for £47,500 and felt smug when I sold it for £55,000...

So more like a car I should not have Sold... Worth about £130K+ today...

I went with a friend to see a mint E30 M3 back in the late 90s. I can't remember the price but it was pretty competitively priced. He wasn't sure but I was; I was so close to making an offer myself but didn't have the money to have two cars on the go at once.

I regret that one.

Audi Sport Quattro for £30k back in about 1999/2000. Of course, I wouldn't still have it now, which would probably make the £300-400k asking these days even more painful.

While I regret not buying a BMW E30 M3/Audi RS2/Audi quattro/Lancia Delta Integrale/... when prices were still realistic, I never got to the point of going to see specific cars. So I'll limit myself to one specific car.

A completely original low mileage pre-facelift BMW E34 M5. I knew the seller and I knew the car's history. In fact, this specific car was the reason I wanted one in the first place. But it had just sold by the time I managed to contact the seller. I'm still mad at myself for not contacting him sooner. frown

A few years ago my plan was to swap my Cerbera for a T350 and the price for them at the time was around £16k for a pretty decent one...I didn't and some are fetching nearly twice that now!

Another one both me and the mrs were talking about only the other day was the R35 GTR we both loved them when they first came out and brand new they were around £54k...now look what they charge for them!! still lots of performance for the cash though but certainly not the bargain they were originally.

A Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider.

My driving instructors mate had one he wanted to sell. I did an insurance quote that came back at £5500 so I never thought about the car any more. I was 17 at the time (2003). What I should have done is bought it & get my parents to insure it until it was cheap enough for me.

I'd be kicking myself for not buying a Mustang GT500/350, TransAm 455SD, Hemi 'Cuda, Charger or Challenger in the '80s before they properly started to get expensive

Will read the rest of the thread in a moment but will start off with the worst 'miss' - 964RS, winter 2005/6 - Nar, bit to much for everyday use and I really don't like the idea of paying just under £30k for a car when I might need that extra £15k over the price of that 2.5 Boxster for a house shortly.

I didn't need the £15k in the end anyway and traded the Boxster for not much more than the price of a full set of tyres and a good service 5 years later. At least the trade was against a 968CS biggrin

Still hurts though.

a new RS200 for 50k
the unsold XJ220's they chucked in a shed for 90k each
CGT for 120k (ish, EVO fast fleet) some are now showing for 500k....
997 GT3 RS with vile green interior, it was for sale for over a year and the price eventually went down just below 50k when it was finally sold

There are so many:

Lancia Delta Integrale Evo
Sierra Cosworth 2WD - made an offer, seller didn't accept, but got a text two weeks later saying I could have it for my offer. Unfortunately, I'd already bought my Evo by then.
Golf Rallye
Escort Cosworth
E30 M3
Supra TT
R32 GTR

These are all cars I've considered buying but haven't and now prices are getting a bit silly on most of them.

Porsche 964 RS for £20k in late 90's. Went with my first 3.2 Carrera (Early Porsche 911's were also peanuts).

Ferrari 328 GTS for £22k in 2008 (after the crash).

Ferrari 355 GTS in 2012 at £30k.

Porsche 997.1 GT3 in 2013 at £50k.

These things tend to go in cycles, so I'll wait for the next downturn! biggrin
