Which motorhome - help!
Discussion
Hi All,
We are thinking about getting a new motorhome. We are both complete novices and really don't know which is the best model/make or really what essentials we should be looking for.
It does need to have a shower and toilet, needs to sleep 2,the usual convenience items such as tv and cab air con and due to storage issues it needs to be less than 6m long.
We have looked at Autotrail v-line conversions and also Autosleeper conversions but they seem to offer less than the coachbuilt vans for more money.
The one that seems to fit the bill at the moment is the Autosleepers Nuevo ES which is coachbuilt but only 5.7m long and with the features we think we need and want at a lower price than the conversions.
Any advice or recommendation of where to buy, discounts that can be expected and what features to look for and avoid would be great. Also what is the reputation and residuals of the brands mentioned above in comparison to competitors.
Thanks.

Hi Undred Orse, I'm a life long Motorhome salesman and Motorhomer. Not got time to write s full reply tonight but in short I don't sell either of those or anything that would suit and will happily provide impartial advice if it helps.
Drop me a pm if you like and I'll give you my number, tied up tonight but any time tomorrow is fine.
Quick bit on van conversion pricing- They look poor value price wise, this is because they have the same kit as a coachbuilt, they cost more as a base vehicle and take much longer to make as you have to get inside and build them bit by bit.

The best thing you can do is start going to a look at LOTS of them, just to get an idea of possible layouts etc. Go to shows, buy some magazines. Consider renting one for a long weekend or a week away to help you get any idea of the things you'll need to buy, how things work and feel etc. Nec show next week, not as big as the October one but still a great place to look at lots of vans on one place then pop into out place Travelworld in Telford on way there or vac, only 30 mins away, mainly premium German fixed he'd stuff so maybe nothing suitable but different from the ones you'll see at the Nec
First bit of advice - take nagsheadwarrior up on his offer! I made the mistake of ignoring his advice first time around - bought myself a Rimor which I ended up regretting. Second time around (when he worked at Travelworld), I took his advice and subsequently ended up bagging myself my current van, which I love and couldn't imagine parting with.
Second bit of advice - see loads. And then some. And then think about renting. Layout is the most important thing and we have found with ours that it's the complete opposite to what we THOUGHT we wanted. Sit in a load, imagine how you'd use the space (for lounging or travelling or eating or sleeping etc). Then rent.
Travelworld is awesome for this since they have an enormous showroom - the likes of which I've never seen before.
Good luck with the search. You'll be in safe hands with NHW.
