Comparing the rear ends of the concept and the production car, the production car just looks like a poor attempt at a replica of the concept. It all looks a bit too cheap body-kit with bolt on arches and huge spoiler that don't work with the rest of the car as it all looks like its just been slapped on rather than come out of the factory like that.

I think we've all seen a mk4 Golf R32 rep, stock width arches but with big bumpers etc, that's kind of what I'm getting at.

A set if eibach lowering springs and that'll look spot on. I've decided I like it.

Looks even worse in red.

Whats with black door handles, just looks odd.

Can you imagine what these things are going to look like when the barrys get hold of them.

Hmm, really not so sure now. Instead of looking aggressive it just looks awkward.

Well I had a feeling the final product would end up looking a little tacky and I have to say I was wrong, it looks VERY tacky. That rather interesting looking rear end on the concept has gone to be replaced by sticky out lights, wings on top of wings and those exhausts...oh dear. The front looks positively restrained by comparison and hence out of balance.

I know I often complain about European cars being too staid and boring but conversely the Japanese seem intent on making every fast car look like a transformer, no one seems to be able to find a good middle ground these days.

So stylistically it's a fail from me, let's hope at least the drive is something to write home about.

The arch extensions just look terrible. What's the point if you're then not going to fit wheels that fill them?

Agreed, the wheels look horribly lost in those arches.

God, that's awful. I loved the concept. It managed to be functional enough to not be too chavvy. The black mule was worse but the arches still looked purposeful and the wheels filled them. And now this, with stuck on arches that look like something you'd buy from a Ripspeed catalogue in 1989? I sense the bean counters have ruined this. It just looks terrible!

It might not be as fast as, or drive as well as, this Civic, but my Alfa looks 300 times better and is leagues above it in class. I'd be embarrassed to be seen in that, and I used to be a Honda fanboy. I wouldn't even drive it with a paper bag on my head!

Ah well, looks like the Giulia is my main launch this year. Let's hope Alfa can deliver.

I had my suspicions it was going to be a bit 'Barry'... The base 9g Civic was always going to be a difficult turd to polish...

I think it looks excellent, and will almost definitely look better in person.
The Golf R has 4 exhausts, so does the S3. The A45 Amg comes with a big wing as an option that is often ticked....I think the lairy nature of this car suits the big aero and at least we know its real aero not just for show smile

If it can now be as good to drive as they say it will then I will want one a lot!

I can't say I particularly like it but it looks like Honda have actually gone and put a lot of proper, functional aero stuff all over the car so at least it will be interesting.

I doubt it. All the promo material is for the one you see above. They're just revealing it early on Instagram. The official launch is tomorrow at Geneva so I assume they'll preview it tonight, maybe at midnight?
