Seems counter productive for Porsche to headline with two cars that no one in the UK can buy. GT4 and GT3 RS, try and buy one people and see what happens!! Poor form Porsche.
I know one person who has had his name down with Porsche Aberdeen for a GT3 RS as soon as the GT3 was announced. So it is possible...I'm thinking about heading over for the first time - the official website isn't brilliant in terms of practical info...could someone advise please if it is walkable from the airport as the map would imply and whether it is possible to get tickets on the door or best to get them online? It would be Sat 14th I would be going so guessing one of the busier days - are the crowds bearable enough...ie will I be looking at the interesting stuff on tiptoes or be able to get up close?
Yes it is walkable from he airport, in fact it is preferable to do so than catch a bus/taxi. Most of the walk is under cover and is traffic free. There is room to breathe and look at the stars of the show, but the hottest property does get slightly crowded (LaFerrari was quite busy last year) but you can get close to most (last year the Mustang made its Euro debut and was easy to photograph). It gets quite warm but several stands hand out beakers of chilled water (last year Mini & Merc did).
Don't forget to check out the ancillary exhibition(s) (2014 there was a glorious & crowd free tribute to Le Mans - the irony of the Swiss celebrating motor sport which they ban was not lost on me)
Enjoy, but be warned it's bug that you will catch & need to return in future, looks as if I will not be going this year & will miss it.

I always wonder why a country with apparently impeccable environmental credentials, where privacy and a low profile are fiercly guarded and with no motor industy hosts a car show.
Some interesting veeehicles though.
Will the Vulcan break cover. XCar have posted a "look around the car" vid.

Just back from the show... If you're going, my top tip is No.1 is use the cloakrooms (CHF2.-/item) as it gets hot. Crazy how many folk struggle round wearing puffas etc.
Top tip no. 2 is find your way to the Tag Heuer exhibition.
There's a 1988 McLaren MP4/4 on display and it is a rare treat to see one so close with no barrier around it etc.
In the same room there is a 2015 Nissan GT-R LM NISMO LMP1 race car with all its front-wheel-drive bonkersnessness.
