To anyone other than a nerdy petrolhead, an EK9 is just an old Civic.
So yes, I'd say it IS a bit of a Q car.
Apart from the Type R badges plastered on the sides and bootlid, wheels, spoiler, and lip kit of course. So yes, I'd say it IS a bit of a Q car.
RS6 is just a diesel Audi estate right?
ETA: Fair enough though. Everyone has an opinion, some peoples are different. Maybe I'm biased because I've been around Hondas for a few years.

Do you think a non petrolhead would see an RS6 drive past and think it's just an S line S6? (Probably a diesel)
I bet you they probably wouldn't even think "S Line", much less anything else!I don't think you realise just how little interest a non-car person pays to cars.
They notice obvious stuff like actual sports cars and suchlike, but hotted up versions of normal road cars just doesn't register on their radar in my experience, unless it's very very obvious.
Perfect example of this is that one of our neighbours used to have a B7 RS4 Avant. To my girlfriend it was just an Audi estate.

Cracking little cars, absolutely love mine. Preferred the looks and interior over the DC2.
£5-6k will get you a tidy example. £8,500 isn't reflective of what buyers typically pay for an EK9.
Still not sure about the "not enough torque" comments - how much torque were you expecting a NA 1.6 to produce?
It depends if you don't mind making the same progress with more revs and more noise. Also you don't get that coming on boost push that makes a car feel faster than it really is, but the noise and throttle response are better.£5-6k will get you a tidy example. £8,500 isn't reflective of what buyers typically pay for an EK9.

It makes max power at about 8000rpm, so it's revving at least 40% higher in top gear than a typical 1.6, that makes max power at about 5500rpm. Result is similar torque at the wheels to the equivalent 2.2, in a car that weighs about 1100kg.

I recognise that car... were you at Blyton in October 2013? I was in the red 180SX and a mate was in a blue mk1 MR2.
Yes I was there with my friend in the Miami blue 205 I remember you two. I broke this car for parts recently and I have a RB25DET S14a now

That's tidy... So what are these K24 engines like?
It was excellent. Ultra reliable on track and made 273bhp and 206ft/lb with nearly all the torque coming in at 2500rpm. It kept a Ferrari California honest on the autobahn. The guy looked gutted he couldn't pass meadingley84 said:
I often see a special edition Jordan in Brentwood driven by a 70+ yr old granny. Less hardcore than a CTR but will be a great buy when she snuffs it. genuinely never tracked or abused!
I see a yellow Jordan round my way - the guy has owned it for ages, at least 15 yearsGassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
