It was common enough for EJ208's to blow a gasket. Look at UKLegacy and you will see a steady trail of it, mine included.

I own one of these and it really is a fantastic car, I can't believe what great value they are. Servicing costs are high, but as I do my own the only issue is the week or so I have to wait for parts in NZ. They are a lot of fun and fast in a way that defies their appearance.
