What a totally ridiculous vehicle

I am sure there are plenty of other 4x4s that would drive better off road and on road and not look as silly

Anyone who would want that must be a total loon
(If I could I would have one tomorrow paperbag )

If I sold my house I could maybe buy one of these and a disused quarry. I could spend my life driving round in very bumpy circles biggrin

Saw the 6x6 and didn't realise it was so big! Very tall but probably only similar size to the trucks in the US!

This new one looks similar height wise so a regular g wagen would probably do with the nice fat off road wheels and tyres

The Autocar road test makes it seem even more appealing, crazy approach, departure and ramp over angle claims + 0-60 in 6.5 and even sounds great to drive on tarmac, possible limited production run at £200k (est).

For those that have to itch their G spot. There's actually a really rather nice low mileage G500 on Gum tree at this very moment for 23k.

I want one more than a 6x6. I think the 6x6 is just for showing off, this would be showing off but just a bit more slyly.
There were rumours of a cost higher than that of the 6x6 but they seem to be wrong.
Imagine being on the mercedes team working on this, would be an incredible experience i think.

Oddly and I know this will sound strange but I started to find the 6x6 looked 'kow key' as I was seeing them quite regularly - ok they were in colours designed to blend in if you get my gist, but as they got to be more normal I found myself starting to find them the sensible option to the Unimog I've always hankered after!! I want one of those as well for absolutely NO good reason.

That old G500 has nothing to do with what they propose here...a newer G55/63 would be closer maybe, but nowhere that ground clearance.

Awesome!

this is a posing pouch and not the Real Thing. In its promotional livery it screams 'TOOL'. That's the driver, not the car. For those who care, the Toyota Hilux is an example of the Real Thing and, as such, is cool. A more workmanlike, functional, utilitatian vehicle would be hard to find. And that's something to get excited about.

For something so extreme it's a bit too sensible: give me a call when they've fitted the running gear to the SWB 3-door body (& I've sold the house/wife/kids etc...).

Yes please! In a flat old school color. Remove all LED lamps and throw those blingy 22" wheels as far as you can. The offroad wheels are awesome! No need for bling on this badboy

Which means it gets the same portal axles that here lift ground clearance from 210mm on a regular G-Wagen LWB to 450mm here.
I could never buy one of these.... my trolley jack only lifts to 450mm. At full height I could wheel my jack underneath this. I'd need to buy a new jack smile
