Just bought my 6th Ep3 this morning. Keeping it long term as my trackday car, nothing wild as will be on German plates so i can use it in TF
Wow that is dedication to the cause. I had a pre-facelift EP3 many years ago and absolutely loved it. I never tracked it but I didn't think it would be great based on my experiences road driving, it would often spin up one wheel out of corners on a spirited drive, I felt it could have benefited from a Limited Slip Diff, other than that one of best cars I have owned and I still miss it now.

Slight thread bump, but where better to post it.

Is it okay to buy one of these with circa 140000 miles on it if it has a full service history? The condition of the particular car I'm looking at looks better than some with far fewer miles you see. I only drive about 6000 miles per year so I won't be piling miles on to it.

Yes. Buy on condition rather than age/milage. The main thing is that the engine has never been starved of oil.

Mine was on 125,000 when I bought it. Still pulled like new, tracked it with no issues.

Is it just me or have values firmed up ever so slightly over the past year?

Surely they have added an errant zero onto the pricing of that car? eek

I might give them a call if that's 4900. Might be able to get it down to 4500. Easier than sifting through all the dogs out there.

Look's more likely to be they've entered the mileage into the pricing section. I doubt they'll have that up for £4,900, mint low mileage EP3 from a dealer will be up for £5.5k atleast.

I think you'll find the "value" of just about most things have "firmed up"... it's called an asset price bubble brought about by the ready availability of cheap and easy credit and has nothing at all to do with these things actually being worth any more.

Interesting reading the thoughts of people on the forum, always rather fancied one of these:

I seen the market is flooded with these, what type of value will I be looking at for a good one do you think?

A non-limited edition facelift model with a reasonable mileage (<100k), good service history and condition would normally go for £4-4.5k.

The anniversary editions normally fetch slightly more.

The engines are really strong and as long as it's been serviced regularly, not starved of oil and had the valve clearances I'd happily buy one with over 100k on it.

That's great, thanks for the advice

No, I could barely give mine away last winter.

pre facelift with 160k miles, but ran and drove literally like new, did not use oil, new clutch, etc.

Pre facelift = less desirable than facelift

160k miles

There's your reasons.

I got a grand trading mine in, similar mileage. I'm sure I could have sold it for more privately but I didnt want to have to try and explain away all it's quirks, ie "Oh, yeah it doesnt go into 2nd when cold. They all do that!"
