Antracer, are you seriously saying you can't imagine how that could have been fatal?

I'm quite happy to let the video of an HGV nearly t-boning a car stand as a very logical reason to back up my opinion that, in slightly different circumstances, that incident could easily have been a fatality. Unladen lorry or not.

Your belief that this possibility was laughable (or at least 'LOL'able) in your first post, coupled with your subsequent statement that 'He could plow into the lorry at 50 & his seat belt & airbag would save him' is, to me, utterly foolish, hence cretinous.
Ok so again you are saying it could have been fatal but yet again you give no explanation as to "how" it could have been fatal. Like i said before, im all ears.

The possibility "is" laughable. The fact that if there had been a collision it would have been a glancing blow, worst case the car rolls (cuts & bruises) or the shock triggers a massive heart attack. A fatality from "that" incident is incredibly far fetched. The lorry was moving very slowly & the car saw him coming & had plenty of time to react.

Which part of a cars modern safety features make you think he cant crash at 50 & walk away?. I dont know about anyone else but wading in here & calling a fellow forum user "cretinous" is about as foolish as it gets.
If you think you'll walk away from a fifty to zero unmarked you are either a cretin or you're yet to have a proper crash.

As for how, what happens to the brain inside the skull in a rapid deceleration?

If that was you in the car the last thing you'd be doing would be laughing. And to say 'the fact is' and then go on to use utter guesswork as to what would happen makes you look pretty stupid.

Literally anyone could see that that had the potential to be a very serious and potentially fatal accident. I hit someone at 25 a week ago and wrote off my car, definitely don't fancy repeating it at 50 into a truck ffs.

I've just re-watched that in detail.

The driver did react fairly slowly. I'm confident to say that I would have reacted a tad faster, and swerved straight into that sign. Which would have been far, far nastier. frown

Bug - You say that but fail to back it up with any reason.

Z06 - Interesting but the lorry is NOT a solid object. Hitting something like shown in the video is most common when hitting trees & could not have happened in the OP's incident.
I saw a Vectra squished between two lorries once, they poured the remains of driver out of the rainwater drains...

I'm still waiting for an explanation as to how that incident could have been fatal?. (from anyone)

Strangely enough despite several people believing it could have been fatal no one has offered up any logical reasoning. If you have a valid point then back it up.

As for fragility of the human body. i found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOjEh_0ytno
Which was rather eye opening.

If you need an explanation I fear you would be too stupid to understand.

I take it you skipped physics at school?

It's all to provoke a reaction and people seem to be falling for it. In another thread he commented something along the lined of "I don't understand 500bhp barges, is it a penis extension?"

Crap driving on the part of the truck driver but I suspect it would have been crunch metal time but not certain death by any stretch, the car would have ended up on the verge with a mangled off side wing and wheel.

Obviously, you crash into trucks the outcome can be really bad but there wouldn't have been the abrupt stop that usually kills people.

Didn't someone once die after getting rear ended at about 5mph, turns out he was picking his nose at the time?

As for reacting slowly, nearly every day I come across some tosser charging up to a give way and braking hard as I'm on the main road going past, the first couple of times I swerved or braked, however it happens so often that I don't react at all. If he looks a particular type of prick (you know the ones) I actually steer towards him a bit, they soon get to find out how good their brakes are then.
