Cars That Looked Best/Worst as an Estate

The Brera is the worst looking of the lot by virtue of the side profile and fat arse.
And the fact it's a coupe not an Estate, like the Z3M.A repeat of the brief - this is not about the best/worst looking estates. It is a question of whether the estate variant of a car was the best/worst looking of that car range. The Citroen DS for example might have been a good looking estate, but it was not the best looking DS. Gottit?

Best
Although I do quite like this generation Megane in the sporty Renaultsport trims (especially the R26) it was pretty ugly. The only time it had nice lines was in estate form:
Worst
Whereas this generation Clio looked great as a hatch, but honking as an estate.
This is how the game is played!Although I do quite like this generation Megane in the sporty Renaultsport trims (especially the R26) it was pretty ugly. The only time it had nice lines was in estate form:

Missed the point of the thread. Not asking if an estate is good looking or not. Instead asking if it shades the other variants of the same car in the looks department or is in fact the minger of the breed, so in the case of the DS I think fail...Edited by r11co on Tuesday 24th February 23:36

No way! The safari DS is so much cooler and better looking than the convertible!
Again, missing the point. Not asking which was the best looking variant, just asking if the estate was at the top or bottom of the pile. If one variant out of a range of three was either better or worse looking than the estate then the entire range does not deserve to be in this thread, which is why this...and this...
both qualify for being the worst and best of a bad bunch respectively.

For a mundane modern car from Korea I think this looks pretty good.
+1, probably the nicest estate I've seen on this thread from side profile. This thread is not about the best/worst looking estate cars. That has been done before and I was trying to give this thread some longevity, so here's the rules explained in a different way. Any car posted is only in competition with its siblings from the same range/generation/manufacturer, so (for example) is the BMW E91 the best/worst of the E9x's? It is irrelevant whether it is better/worse looking than anything else. This is why the Ford Scorpio posted above wins a 'Best' award despite it still being a minger, and why the DS posted previously gets a 'Worst' award despite being quite good looking as it is the least attractive of its family.

Errr, that's pretty much the thread title already?!
Agreed. Although your use of the words 'best' and 'worst' lead people to quickly conclude that you want nice/ugly estates. If a thread title change were an option it would be easier, but it's not, so maybe a bold header would do the trick.Pebbles167 said:
Suggest changing the header in first post to read:
Post cars that looked better (or worse) as an estate.
I am not seeing how that is significantly different to the existing title (in fact it is practically identical barring the addition of one word and the use of brackets).Post cars that looked better (or worse) as an estate.

I think the title causes people to assume you're generally after good looking or horrible estate cars. Hence you're having to patiently explain it ever 5th post.
If you've read any of the 'facelift' threads you will know the issue is more likely to be PEBCAK.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
