Agreed. Although your use of the words 'best' and 'worst' lead people to quickly conclude that you want nice/ugly estates. If a thread title change were an option it would be easier, but it's not, so maybe a bold header would do the trick.
Ah, right - I see where you are going, but I was specifically trying to root out where people thought the stylists of a car did their best work on the estate version, and conversely where it was left to the engineer with not a clue about aesthetics to graft a glass box on the back! This rules out where the estate looks better than the saloon but not as good as the hatch, for example....

Yuk...

Good: B8 A4 Avant (my old car, so slightly biased tongue out)

Bad: B8 A4 Saloon

I've never been a fan of saloon cars, they always look a bit too 'big in the rear' for my liking.

Although I do quite like this generation Megane in the sporty Renaultsport trims (especially the R26) it was pretty ugly. The only time it had nice lines was in estate form:

Probably just me but I think all BMWs look better as estate versions, at least everything of 3 series and up.

The idea of the game is to post a picture of a car that in estate form, was either the best or worst looking of the body styles.

No mention of this particularly ham-fisted effort:

OK, the original isn't exactly a looker in stock form, but the estate just looks like a 5 year old squared the back off without doing anything else.
Ummmm, see page 3

Always quite liked this generation Primera, but someone put zero effort into designing the estate!

Good thread this. smile

Let's try some Mondeos.

I think the MkIII looked better in saloon/hatch form than esate

Esate a bit too boxy IMO

However, the MkIV looks great in both, I can't decide what I prefer...

I think the hatch might just edge it actually

What do we all think of this

Now I actually bought one for a while, ridiculously cheap for its age and kind of warmed to it apart from the look of the thing forward of the A-Pillar.

Super comfy on long journeys but didn't go down too well with the ladies at 24
