Hands down Alfa make great looking sportwagons.....
D'ya reckon?

But of course, in this thread it is only competing against its own stablemates:

Guess that's a 'worst' then.

+1 for the V fiddy.

I'm not sure if it counts as a wagon as it's more an MPV, but the Dacia Lodgy is pretty dire:

Biased as I'm hopefully buying one soon, but I fund most Audi Avants to look better than their saloon counterparts.

I don't really see the point of saloon cars either, from a practicality point of view. Though I'll concede that some look better as a saloon than an estate (pretty much any impreza)

Stand-alone model not available in any other bodyshell, so doesn't qualify for this thread.

I thought this for one of the best, but when doing a google search, my word - time really hasn't been kind to it.

So I'm voting is as the best and the worst! biggrin

Every time I see the rear of one of these it reminds me of a London Tube train:

You'd make a good rugby official. "These are the rules, play by them or bugger orf!"

Perhaps you could go and sort out the sorry and pathetic state of footballers! hehe

Worst/best?

(Before anyone chips in with the coupe, it wasn't available in this iteration).

Stagea's aren't available in saloon format.

The OP never stipulated saloon versions, and if you're being that picky, many of the cars in the thread were never available in a saloon version (such as the Skoda octavia, Renault Laguna etc. which were hatchbacks).
The Stagea was the estate version of the Skyline coupe/saloon (albeit a different name), therefore it's allowed.

Good: B8 A4 Avant (my old car, so slightly biased tongue out)

Bad: B8 A4 Saloon

I've never been a fan of saloon cars, they always look a bit too 'big in the rear' for my liking.
I couldn't disagree more! The B8 saloon in S Line spec is a fantastic looking car which has spot on proportions and that gorgeous wedge to the rear boot. Just my opinion though! As Diesel rep mobiles go it's clear to see why there is thousands of them on the road!

I'm struggling to think of any car I'd rather have as an estate... Many of the Audi's mentioned do not come as saloons so don't really count IMO.

I love them, but better looking than the saloon and its concave screen and swoopy profile? Not a chance.

So worst then. And that, ladeez and germs, is how the game is played!

I don't agree, I love the long estate shape much more than the fastback, despite the concave screen & swoopy profile!

I think the saloons of this age may be even worse.

Pretty much any BMW. Citroen C5 (Mk 2). Both better.

Had more in common with the Laurel than the Skyline chassis IIRC wink

Bah! Someone beat me to posting the Austin Allegro. No wonder Leyland failed! The old SAAB 95 was an odd looking little car, but very practical with the extra seat option and the split tailgate too.
